The hosts were lovely and were great at communicating with us. They have created a cute and cosy dog friendly cottage experience that has modern elements with character charm. The cottage has off road parking, a large, beautiful and secure garden (safe for our two doggies to roam). We appreciated the garden furniture on sunny days. The louRead morenge has a smart TV, comfy sofas, blankets and a modern log burner (you will need to bring your own kiln dry logs/kindling etc). The main bathroom (electric shower over bath) is downstairs and you need to be agile getting in and out. The washing machine.tumble dryer was great, especially being there two weeks. The kitchen was well equipped, the fridge is on the smaller side, there is also a separate freezer. There was a round table for 4 in there, we loved to cook, chat and eat in there. There are two bedrooms. As there was only is two of us we put our clothes in the twin room, and slept in the king bed room. The toilet and sink en suite was appreciated, meaning we didnt have to go downstairs at night or for a wash etc in the morning. You do need a car if staying here. Whilst it only 15 minutes to get to Instow, Bideford, Appledore etc (great beach for dog walks, and Johns coffee shop) the lanes in/out to the cottage are narrow, fairly busy and people few people seem to just drive really fast (as well as some big trucks/farm type vehicles). We didnt want to walk the lanes, didnt feel safe doing that but maybe we just bit cautious. We really liked it here, we felt it was excellent value for money and were sad to leave. Thank you to our hosts, you are doing a great job. Hide

Very comfortable and clean cottage. Large secure garden, ideal if you have dogs. Close to some fantastic dog friendly beaches ie Saunton sands and Puttsborough beach further along. Please note 10 to park, but it's for all day. Great food at The pig on the Hill pub, Bideford.

This cottage is well provisioned and very nicely furnished. Although adjacent to another property (not attached) it feels very private and is not overlooked. The garden is perfect for dogs roaming free - completely secure and mostly just lawn with nice shrubs around the perimeter. Wide patio for seating. A wonderful cosy cottage, fully equipped with everything you could need. Comfy sofas in the lounge with a homely feel. Plenty of shoe and coat storage downstairs and hanging space in the bedrooms.
