Take up to two furry friends with you on your family holiday to this three-bed barn conversion in the quaint Suffolk village of Knodishall. Working equally well for a group of friends or family break you can easily explore the beautiful Heritage Coast of Suffolk from here. Venturing inland, there are charming market towns such as Saxmundham (4.5 miles), Framlingham (12.5 miles) and Wickham Market (11 miles).

Renovated in 2022, this Grade II-listed barn conversion offers stylish open-plan living complemented by rustic features and all mod cons. The entrance hall has useful storage for shoes, coats and towels for damp paws. The open-plan kitchen/diner with its exposed wood beams will inspire you to create a culinary masterpiece in the contemporary kitchen before dining around the table seating six. There’s even a two-seater sofa for chatting to the chef as well as French doors leading outside. Four-legged guests will love the cool hard flooring downstairs in summer and in winter the cosy wood burner in the inviting lounge with comfortable sofas. Sleeping accommodation is flexible with one king-size bedroom, one twin that could be configured as a king-size and one single bedroom, all offering generous, calming spaces for a restful night. Sit in companionable silence with your dogs in the garden with furnished patio as you review your day or plan the next.

Get your boots on, grab those leads and head out exploring on foot or by bike – the dogs will have a ball sniffing out hares amid pastures new. Perennially popular coastal towns like Southwold (15 miles) and Aldeburgh (3.5 miles) offer independent shopping, eateries, galleries and wonderful beaches (largely pebble and shingle). Snape Maltings (4.5 miles) offers more of the same, plus a cultural fix with its musical connections.

The Smithy is in a perfect location and is a lovely property, though we did not find the lounge seating comfortable or the room cosy. The kitchen diner is superb and exceptionally well equipped. However, you will need make sure that you take ALL condiments, oil and basic things like milk as nothing is supplied- not even salt and pepper. CleanliRead moreness was a bit of an issue, no bathroom cleaning equipment supplied, the door to the very unkempt garden would not open and no logs, firelighters were supplied. There was an issue with heating upstairs, but the owner did resolve this quickly. The following question as if we would recommend this property to a friend. Though I have answered yes, it would be with some reservations. Hide

This is our second time at The Smithy and hopefully not our last! House is in a great location for nearby beaches and towns. The layout of the house works well for our family which includes young children and a dog. The Smithy is well equipped with everything you could need. Would definitely recommend!

A lovely property we enjoyed our stay. There is an issue with the dishwasher, it doesn't work properly and needs attention. Other than that would recommend the property.

Generally very comfortable but the living room seemed dark and cold at times, on the last evening particularly the temperature dropped and we would have been tempted to light the log burner but there was no sign of the free basket of logs. The garden could be more secure, its not obvious from the pictures that the garden is open round to the front Read moreof the building. Hide

A lovely, clean and cosy cottage in a great location. Very comfortable beds and good quality furnishings. We had a lovely holiday within easy reach of Aldeburgh , Snape, Minsmere and Sutton Hoo.

The cottage Is lovely and very comfortable. Everything is good quality. The kitchen is new and well equipped. The garden is safe for children and dogs but the fences around the front of the house are ok for a medium dog and the small gate is okay but we kept it more secure with our dog's lead.
