This outstanding holiday home on the border of Devon and Cornwall is perfect for a gathering of family and friends, with space for 12 guests and their two canine companions. The brick and stone property is stylishly furnished and has two beautiful, enclosed gardens, safe for children and pets, as well as a luxurious hot tub. Country walks are close by, while the pretty market town of Holsworthy (2 miles) and the coastal town of Bude (11 miles), with its vast, sandy beaches, are both within easy reach.
Inside the property, full-length windows and French doors open onto a lovely garden from the large lounge makes this a great space for relaxing, complete with comfortable leather sofas and wing armchairs. The spacious, country-style kitchen/diner has all you need to cater for hungry guests and houses a lovely period sideboard alongside contemporary appliances. There are also two gorgeous, ground-floor bedrooms—a super-king-size and a double— and a bathroom. Upstairs are four further bedrooms, two king-size and two twins, plus two further bathrooms so there will be no need to queue in the morning. Outside are the gardens with patio furniture, a BBQ, flowers and palm trees as well as a fantastic hot tub.
Historic Holsworthy is a great place to stock up on supplies, with local produce sold at the weekly farmers’ market as well as a range of independent shops. Discover the story of the Pretty Maids at the town’s fascinating museum, housed in a historic manor house. Scenic Tamar Lakes (8 miles) offers water sports, a children’s play area and a circular walk along a level path, where your four-legged friends are welcome on a lead. They can practise their ball retrieval skills and run free across most of Bude’s glorious beaches, however there are summer restrictions on some of the busier spots. A walk along the Bude Canal footpath will provide a peaceful stroll with glimpses of wildlife for the humans and enjoyable new smells for your pets.
