Escape to the countryside with your favourite human and hounds in this idyllic property just outside Cadeleigh. Surrounded by the spectacular Mid Devon landscape, the retreat is the perfect base for keen walkers and four-pawed explorers, with routes to explore from your front door, as well as in the Blackdown Hills and along the south coast. The nearby market town of Tiverton (7 miles) has some excellent independent shops and paw-friendly eateries.
The stunning wood-panelled hut is full of rustic charm, with hand-crafted furniture and an array of homely touches. The main living space is a bright lounge/kitchen/diner, with French doors opening onto the terrace (so the pups can amble in and out) and far-reaching countryside views. In one corner is a kitchen with a cute breakfast bar and everything needed for a self-catering getaway, and from here a step leads down to a cosy lounge area with a sofa, wood burner and a Smart TV. A further step leads to an inviting king-size bedroom with panoramic views and an en-suite shower room. You’ll also have access to an additional shower room from the terrace. Outside, soak up the sunshine on the large, decked terrace, which features outdoor furniture, a hot tub, BBQ, and firepit. Beyond the terrace is an enclosed lawn where Rover and Fido can burn off steam, and you’ll also have access to a shared dog exercise paddock. Within the shared grounds is a pond – a lovely spot for a picnic – and a games barn with a badminton court, table tennis table, and pool table. Private parking is available for two cars.
The pretty village of Bickleigh (3.5 miles) is well worth a visit, with its charming, thatched cottages and gorgeous riverside trails. On a hot day, Northdown Wood, just outside the village, offers plenty of shade for your furry pals. Further afield, enjoy days out with the woofers to the National Trust properties at Knightshayes or Killerton (both within 10 miles), or perhaps take a trip to the seaside town of Sidmouth (26 miles), where there’s a woof-welcoming stretch of beach all year.
