Country charm, historic features and luxurious modern comforts combine in this superlative period house overlooking the Black Mountains. Families or groups of friends can enjoy a choice of two lounges with wood burners and extensive grounds which include a tree house.
This stylish property offers something for everyone. Cooks will adore the stunning kitchen, which is full of light and has double doors to the terrace. This room is complemented by a pantry and a huge boot room featuring a utility area with laundry facilities: the perfect place to pop down your pups’ bowls and beds. Set the table in the dining room for a delicious meal, and afterwards you can choose between the snug, where there’s a wood burner and a Smart TV, or the lounge, with its wood burner, piano, and shelves of books and games. Also on the ground floor are a super-king size, zip-and-link bedroom and an en-suite shower room - both generously sized and beautifully decorated. An open staircase in the lounge leads to two lovely super-king-size bedrooms (both can be twin on request) and a family bathroom, while a ‘secret’ staircase accesses another super-king-size zip-and-link bedroom which has a fabulous en-suite bathroom. The front terrace is a dreamy place to dine or simply relax and enjoy the spectacular views, and enormous grounds surround the property, including a tree house, a fire pit and a riding arena.
The range of waymarked paths from your doorstep is bound to get tails wagging, and you’re 2 miles from the picturesque village of Clyro, where pretty stone cottages surround a 16th century church. Just 3 miles away is the literary town of Hay-on-Wye. Bookshops are its main attraction, but there’s also a weekly market, theatre and cinema, plus a shingle ‘beach’ a short walk from the centre of town.
