This beautifully designed terraced cottage is a year-round getaway for two, with a wood burner for winter warmth and an enclosed garden ideal for summer BBQs (also a great place for your furry friend to sniff and play chase). It’s set in the historic market town of Brecon, perfectly placed for cafes, pubs, restaurants, shops and, of course, walking and all kinds of adventures in the great Welsh outdoors.

After a day’s adventures, open the front door of this characterful holiday home, hang your coats and lead just inside, and flop down on the comfy sofa by the wood burner. Read a book, get out a map or switch on the Smart TV to catch up with your favourite shows. When you start to feel hungry, head through to the pretty kitchen/diner, a bright and airy space with fitted cupboards and a dishwasher for easy cleaning up. The charming double bedroom is on the first floor, decorated in calming, neutral tones for a peaceful night’s sleep, and with the benefit of an en-suite shower room. The lovely lawned garden outside has a BBQ and table and chairs for you to while away the warm evenings with a drink or an alfresco meal.

Explore beautiful Brecon and enjoy its Georgian architecture, cafes, restaurants and shops, and perhaps wander along the canal to Brynich Lock, where you can picnic beside the lock keeper’s cottage. The surrounding countryside of hills, mountains, moorland, ancient oak woodland and riverside paths is heaven for walkers, whether you prefer a gentle stroll or a challenging climb. For a change of pace, head to the book lovers’ town of Hay-on-Wye, 16 miles, or Abergavenny, 21.5 miles, with its arts and foodie scene, weekly markets and ancient ruined castle.

This was a beautiful cottage, decorated and furnished to a very high standard and attention to detail was excellent. There was plenty of storage, hooks and plug sockets just where you needed them. This is an absolutely perfect place to stay. Clean and tidy with everything you need and nothing you dont! Just the right amount if everything. Beautifully decorated. Really comfy bed and plenty of hot water. The garden got a bit hot in the late afternoon which is not often a complaint one would hear in Wales in May! Loved it!
