Located in a picturesque village in the heart of the Peak District, this traditional cottage provides warm, welcoming and cosy accommodation for five guests, with ample space for two canine companions. The property has been lovingly updated to make a delightful holiday home retaining many original features including exposed ceiling beams, a window seat, stable doors, stone floor tiles, wooden floorboards and a warming wood burner set in a stone fireplace. Next to a friendly pub, this idyllic property is perfect for eager walkers exploring the stunning countryside of this magnificent national park.

Entering this pretty cottage, you will find the spacious and inviting open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner which sweeps round in a U-shape. The pleasant and attractive lounge is an ideal space to relax in front of the wood burner with a good book or a movie on the Smart TV at the end of the day. The room leads, via the charming dining area, round to the fully equipped kitchen which is a pleasure to cook in. A delightful snug features a Smart TV and PlayStation 4, making it a great spot for kids to escape to. Upstairs there are three light and cheerful bedrooms and a stylish family bathroom. Heading outside, the courtyard offers seating perfect for enjoying a morning coffee.

Full of charm, character and buildings dating back to the 17th century, the lovely village of Litton makes a fantastic base for exploring the Peak District National Park. Dog-friendly attractions nearby include Ladybower Reservoir, the gardens and park at Chatsworth (both 9 miles), Mam Tor (10 miles), Treak Cliff Cavern in Castleton (8.5 miles) and The Heights of Abraham (16.5 miles). Popular walks include the Litton Loop and the Limestone Way. There are plenty of pet-friendly places to eat in nearby Bakewell (7 miles) and Buxton (9 miles).

The cottage is perfect, gorgeous log fire and comfy sofas after a day of walking. Very comfy beds and a fantastic shower. It feels very homely and you can tell the owners have thought about all of the things you might need, very well stocked kitchen including dog bowls and treats . We had dinner in the pub next door which was welcoming and the foodRead more was excellent. Great location for hikes and the perfect place to come home to afterwards. This is a lovely cottage in a great setting. It is very well set up and comfortable. Litton is a pretty village and the pub is great as is the village shop which was open most days. A real home from home in an attractive village, with a great pub literally next door. The cottage is warm, comfortable, well equipped and nicely furnished. We didn't know the area, and Litton was a great base to explore from, without being too touristy itself. The pub serves excellent food, and we enjoyed several walks from the door. Fabulously located period cottage overlooking the green and next to an excellent pub. Everywhere was decorated beautifully for our pre-christmas stay and we were warmly welcomed. We had a lovely stay at Tallan Green. A very charming cottage in a charming small village. Super convenient that it's right next door to a pub, ideal for a drink after each hike! The kitchen was well equipped and the house is very comfortable. We hope to be back sometime.

Lovely property in a great position. Hikes, dog walks and runs straight from the front door. Red Lion next door is great and we took full advantage of the weather and beer garden. Note the property does not have much outdoor space. Kitchen facilities were great with everything we needed. If taking dogs the outdoor space is a shared drive with the nRead moreeighbours with gates both sides which left me uneasy to leave them outside alone. Stunning cottage in a glorious position. Hide

Lovely little cottage next to a great village pub. The pub has great beers, lovely food and very welcoming hosts. Good village shop. Litton is a perfect location for Buxton, Bakewell, the Hope Valley and local walks
