Property code: OC-BN351

Situated at the heart of the Brecon Beacons, this chocolate-box cottage is top dog for discovering the spectacular wooded valleys, sweeping mountains and cascading waterfalls of this iconic National Park. Beautifully secluded with a traditional country-cottage garden, the property sleeps six humans and two hounds in comfort. Let Fido take the lead and follow a plethora of scenic trails throughout the surrounding wilderness, bringing along a picnic to enjoy lunch with a view.

Kick-off your boots and wipe down muddy paws in the porch before settling down in the lounge, snuggling under one of the blankets to fully appreciate the oak beams in the glow of the crackling wood burner. Mealtimes are a treat in the farmhouse-style kitchen, but it is an equally inviting spot simply to enjoy tea and sandwiches at the table. Upstairs there are three comfortable upstairs bedrooms, all sharing a family bathroom. Children will be enchanted by the storybook-style tiered garden whilst you fire up the BBQ and pour the drinks, letting sleeping dogs lie in the patches of sunlight. A gate at the bottom of the lawn leads to a pretty stream that’s perfect for paddling and dam building too.

Based in a tranquil spot within 0.5 miles of Aber Village, you could soon be wandering down the lane to visit the friendly pub or taking the short 2-mile drive to the iconic Talybont Reservoir to spot the resident birdlife. Brecon is 8.5 miles away offering independent shops, a theatre and a cathedral, or venture into Pontsticill for a walk around the reservoir. Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Very quiet and remote. Great walks and bike rides straight from the door. We loved our week with the family here and didnt want to leave. I would recommend bringing essential items like tea/coffee and milk with you if you arrive after the shops are shut.

A lovely well equipped house tucked away amidst spectacular scenery. The dogs loved the garden and stream. A very relaxing place with loads of walks from the door. We were fortunate to have a week of sunny weather so saw the countryside at its best. A really wonderful week. Very sorry to leave.
