Property code: OC-65875

Savour the serenity of your private, leafy garden, where two delighted dogs can frolic and play while you can relax to the sound of the babbling brook. This converted stone coach house is set on the edge of the Peak District National Park and is a gateway to a plethora of walks and trails for four guests and their favourite furry friends to follow.

Set in the wooded grounds of a Georgian house, your 18th-century coach house has been cleverly converted into bright, inviting holiday accommodation. Hang leads and coats in your entrance hall, where you can also store muddy boots and give wet paws a good rub down. There’s a bathroom here too, for anyone who wants to hop straight in for a good soak before heading up to the open-plan living space to light the wood burner and relax for the evening. Serve happy hounds and their human companions something tasty from the kitchen and find a good film to watch while your pals flake out in front of the fire. Your two bedrooms are also on this level. Wake up to woodland views the next morning and, if the sun is out, serve breakfast to your harmonious holidaying pack out in your secret garden.

Amble 1 mile or so into Chapel-en-le-Frith to find an array of shops, as well as cafes and pubs where wagging tails are always welcomed. Embark on long rambles through the Goyt Valley or across Kinder Scout; drive 7 miles to Edale to pick up a stretch of the Pennine Way. For a long day out with magnificent scenery, take a 5-mile walk to the famous Blue John Cavern, where your canine companions can accompany you on a lead and everyone is welcome to ponder a while in the attraction’s dog-friendly cafe.

The Coach house was beautifully restored and decorated, and really well equipped. The hosts provided a very generous welcome hamper, which was a lovely treat. Cosy and warm, and very comfortable beds.

Excellent stay, good accommodation, access average. Well placed for visits, hill walking and dog friendly. Only warning for dog owners there was no immediate access to a garden so lots of late/ early walks up the hill. So bring a head torch.

The Coach House was a wonderful place to stay: set in beautiful countryside, with easy access (by foot, car and bus) to some 'big name' walks. The property was clean and attractive, with a very comfortable sofa and an absolutely gorgeous garden. Lots of useful info on the local area. The owners couldn't have been more helpful, we had a pet-related Read moredisaster (not on the property) and they went above and beyond to help out. Hide

We recommend it as a great place to stay. Lovely personal touches in the Coach House. Fluffy towels, bathrobes, welcome pack and a great garden to sit in on a spring/summers day/evening. The owners were very helpful. Just a great place to stay outside of the busy tourist villages like Castleton and Edale. Great walking from the Coach House is a pluRead mores too. Hide

We had a lovely short break of 3 nights here in February half term. It's a great cottage, comfortable and with everything we needed. The main draw for us was the walking (we were lucky with the weather) - the large entrance hall was a perfect boot room, and there's a good shower.

We arrived at the Coach House the day before it snowed. It is lovely and cosy and the welcome pack including cream tea, fruit and flowers was a nice surprise. We had originally booked for three nights but due to the snow we added another two nights and then another two again! We will definitely be back, it is a great base for walking and although iRead moret is just off A6 it was very peaceful. Hide

A warm and friendly welcome from the owners, it was an ideal location for walks from Edale, Castleton, etc. Pity the weather was not a bit better as there was a lovely area to sit in the garden, but not in the rain. Would happily return. Oh, and the welcome basket was excellent.
