Good location for exploring. Great front garden for sitting out and enjoying a BBQ in the evening. We had 4 adults so used both bedrooms. The 2nd bedroom has no toilet facilities apart from the downstairs bathroom which is fine but you do need to take care in the middle of the night negotiating the steep stairs. Lovely log burner and relaxiRead moreng area to unwind after a day exploring. Hide

We had a really lovely stay at Sunnyside cottage. The location is beautiful with lovely views over the valley and woodland. The cottage was clean, warm and comfortable with everything we needed. It was well laid out too. The location was excellent for local walks and lots to see within 10 minutes drive and further afield. We had a very good take awRead moreay curry and fish and chips from just down the road where theres also a convenience shop. The owner was helpful and accommodating. We would highly recommend this cottage and hope to return sometime. Hide

The cottage was a very comfortable base for exploring Gloucestershire and the Wye Valley. The bed in the main bedroom was exceptionally comfortable. Great shower pressure. Parking wasn't a problem for us. Vwe needed phone torches on when we returned after dark but it wasn't an issue. Very secure for our dogs. We had a lovely stay.

We are just returned from a lovely week at Sunnyside Cottage. Parking was always available in the single space lay-by on the road directly below the cottage. Access was then via a short, reasonably steep bridleway. Traffic noise from the road below was minimal giving a good night's sleep. The cottage itself was very clean, with a well equipped kitcRead morehen, comfortable king sized bed with ensuite shower room which had plenty of hot water. (Should your group be 4 people there was also a spacious second bedroom and a downstairs bathroom). An information guide provided by the owners was full of helpful suggestions for things to do in the area and places to eat. The cottage gave easy access to the Forest of Dean and also Worcester, The Malvern Hills and WWT Slimbridge nature reserve for birdwatching. Puzzlewood forest being very local was truly magical to visit. We would highly recommend this cottage as a lovely place to stay. Hide

The cottage itself was nice, if a little smaller than we expected! Was good for our dog with the secure garden! We had lovely walks along the river by the village and to the beaver enclosure. Our main issue was the availability of places to eat nearby. The closest pub did not do food. The other pub was about a 50 min walk away and only did food WedRead more- Sun. The cafe was closed and the fish and chip shop was also only open Wed-Sat! Shop was poor too. Be prepared to cook yourself!
Response from Holiday Cottages: Thank you for your feedback. The owner does include local amenities in their welcome pack but it is also worth checking in advance for seasonal opening. Hide

Lovely cottage and fully equipped. Our only reservation was the early morning traffic due to the close proximity of the road. Also the steep stairs.

Lovely comfortable place, with everything you need. Wonderful welcome pack, loved the Prosecco. Ideal base for driving to local places of interest, returning to a log fire on a cold night and snuggling in. Parking on the verge on the opposite side of the road was straightforward.

loved the cottage. So warm and cosy and beautiful location with views. Loved the pictures on the wall too. The only disappointment was not seeing the wild boars.. but we saw loads of evidence of their snufflings! Thank you also for the welcome hamper - the honey delicious and the bubbles and biscuits were such a lovely little touch. Thank you :)

We enjoyed our stay at Sunnyside Cottage. The cottage had everything we needed and is located in a lovely part of the country. The information provided before our arrival, and the welcoming goodies were appreciated. Whilst there are some short walks around the cottage, the best dog walks are a few miles away - and there are plenty of them.
