Wendy was an amazing and generous host. When I arrived she greeted me and showed me around, and even had the kettle on for a much-needed cuppa. The welcome basket was beyond expectations. The garden is secluded, with a table and chairs (also a barbecue which I didn't use). It was a bit chilly in the mornings in April but on several afternoons I endRead moreed up sitting in the garden with a drink after a long walk. It is really helpful to have all the necessary maps in the cottage so you can lay them out on the floor to plan trips. Much easier than staring at a little screen. The cottage is right on the edge of the village which means that you have an easy walk or bike down into the town for the Co-op and other shops and pubs, but also walks straight from the door into the countryside. The town trail is very interesting, using the booklet in the cottage. The station is only a 10-15 minute walk - I used the train to go into Oxford and also to take my bike for a lovely ride home on country lanes. All in all I had a lovely holiday. I definitely plan to come back some time. Hide

Lovely unusual cottage and garden in a very quiet spot with walking from the door. The welcome pack was absolutely brilliant , the best we've ever had and both ourselves and the dogs were made very welcome. Only problem was it got too hot to sleep upstairs as the bedroom is in the roof and we were there in a heat wave so finished up on the sofa.
