Enjoy a Kentish getaway at this cleverly converted former cow shed – and best of all, you can bring your furry friend! The flexible accommodation would suit two couples or a small family and is part of a small complex, so other friends or extended family can join in the family fun, especially when it gets competitive in the on-site communal games room.
This practical cottage has an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with a vaulted ceiling where you can spend time cooking, eating or just relaxing. There’s sofa seating and a table for four, as well as a well-equipped kitchen area. Two light and airy bedrooms offer versatile sleeping arrangements in a double and twin room. While the exterior is rustic clapboard, the interiors are bright with neutral decor and modern furnishings. Doors open from the main living space to a charming patio area with seating, perfect for an early morning cuppa or sundowner after a hard day’s exploring. The beamed games room offers pool, table tennis, a piano and laundry facilities. There’s private parking for two cars.
If you can tear yourself away from the shared games room, there’s loads to do around this great property. Get your walking boots, grab the dog’s lead and head out to discover the Kent Downs. There are towns like Canterbury (10.5 miles) with its medieval history and famous cathedral, but the more canine compatible outings include the seaside town of Hythe (10.5 miles). It offers the usual seaside attractions but, most importantly, a glorious beach for dogs and kids alike to let off steam. Do check for seasonal restrictions. You can even hop on one of the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway’s steam trains for a jaunt. Best of all, your lucky pup can go with you!
