Set within the enchanting village of Appledore, this immaculate cottage welcomes two canines for runs on sandy beaches and long walks on the coastal path. With room for friends or a small family, the charming retreat has a private courtyard and a wood burner to curl up beside on cool evenings.

The two-storey cottage blends characterful original features with modern amenities and a palette of pretty colours and patterns. Its cosy lounge/diner is a welcoming spot in which to unwind, with soft seating gathered around a wood burner and plenty of room for dog beds on the floor. If you need some extra entertainment, there’s also a Smart TV. In the cheerful, compact kitchen you’ll have everything you need to concoct delicious meals, including a microwave and a dishwasher. This room leads through to a lovely downstairs shower room and also a small conservatory – a great place for a quiet moment with a book and a cup of coffee. When you’re ready to turn in for the night, take the cottage-style stairs to the first floor and choose from two restful and beautifully styled bedrooms: a king-size and a double which boasts an en-suite WC. A small courtyard provides a private outdoor space. If you’re bringing a car, there are several public car parks within the village (charges apply).

For sandy paws and runs in the surf, head to either Westward Ho! (2 miles) or Instow (3 miles by car, or use the seasonal foot ferry), where there are sections of beach that welcome furry pals all year round. You can stride out on the South West Coast Path straight from the village, or take children to The Big Sheep (4 miles) where your pets can relax in the secure dog kennels while you enjoy the rides.

Beautiful cottage, well equipped and perfect location. Loved Appledore and we would definitely stay here again.
