High on Kirkstone Pass with waggy-tailed walks from the door, this striking escape is an unforgettable destination for large groups and three canine companions. Boasting hot tubs, a sauna and even an outdoor casino, it’s the ulti-mutt in unique, retro-style luxury.
A bold, American-retro style runs through this spacious property, from the vibrant colours of the kitchen/diner to the checkered floor of the breakfast room. There’s a choice of soft seating in which to relax, with dog beds near your feet, or you can get competitive and make the most of the arcade games, table football, air hockey and more. The vast kitchen/diner, with bar seating for 22, creates the social heart of the home, while a separate breakfast room offers a quieter spot with a Smart TV. Four of the nine themed bedrooms are on the ground floor, with the others on the first floor; all have en-suites and Smart TVs. Six bedrooms have double beds, one has twin beds, and the remaining two sleep four in two double beds – in one of these, the beds are separated by pocket doors, and in the other the second bed is on a mezzanine. The entertainment continues outside with a casino room (blackjack or roulette, anyone?), outdoor snooker and table tennis, alongside two hot tubs, a barrel sauna, BBQ and pizza oven, all set against spectacular views. Parking for up to 20 cars is available opposite the house.
Grab the leads and set out on a hike into the hills and fells that surround the house. Furry friends who love getting out on the water are welcome on the Windermere steamers, which leave from the pier just 4 miles away. A short walk to view the spectacular Stock Ghyll Force waterfall starts in the centre of Ambleside, 3 miles away.
