Experience a truly unique Scottish stay when you retreat to this historic house with your four-legged friend. Sleeping six guests, the impressive, three-bedroom property sits close to the River Tweed, at the heart of Kelso, 23 miles from Berwick-upon-Tweed, in the beautiful borderlands of Scotland. With accommodation across three storeys, the sumptuous, character-laden, 17th-century abode features a courtyard garden where you can rest weary feet and paws after your long walks and trips out to dog-friendly attractions.

Usher your cheerful chum into this luxurious retreat, pausing to dry his fur and slip your shoes off in the hall. Take your pup through with you to the splendid cinema room for a quiet doze while you settle down to a movie. Call him into one of the two kitchens you have here afterwards so you can dish up his dinner and prepare a feast for his human friends to enjoy in the dining area. There is also a family shower room downstairs. Follow your paw-some pal very carefully up the stone spiral staircase to the elegant, first-floor lounge. Give him a little puppy love in here or take him down the stone steps and out into the courtyard. A double bedroom, with an en-suite shower room, is also at this level. Ascend the spiral staircase to the second floor to a gorgeous king-size bedroom, with comfortable seating, and an attractive twin. The family bathroom is also up here. Spend warm, summer evenings with your faithful friend out in the pretty, sun-soaked courtyard garden. Parking for this property is on the street, subject to availability.

This was a great house to be in, with everything you could possibly want. The property is fascinating, several centuries old, and very beautifully furnished that suits the style and age of the house; it was in every way a historic house experience. We loved the stone spiral staircase. The kitchen was well equipped, the large screen TV good, the bedRead mores comfortable, interesting books to dip into, and so close to the town centre, yet with adequate parking, and a church opposite open each day.
