Sitting on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, this impressive Elizabethan manor is steeped in history and boasts uninterrupted views of the majestic Black Mountains. Sleeping eight people over four bedrooms and welcoming two canine companions, it’s the ideal choice for large families or groups of friends seeking a luxurious retreat to call home while they discover the incredible beauty of the Brecon Beacons with their pups by their side. Enjoy strolls along the tow path of the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal during the day, and then return to this exquisite manor house in the evening to relax in front of the wood burner with your faithful friends.

Step inside and make yourself at home in this historic 17th century hall that has been transformed into a cosy, modern sitting room. Head to the kitchen to whip up some dinner for your loved ones, and then host a smart dinner party in the impressive dining room. Alternatively, make your way outside, fire up the BBQ and dine alfresco while your pups enjoy the freedom to explore the enclosed garden. After dinner, have a game of table tennis in the games’ room while your pups snooze by the wood burner, or retire to the study for a little quiet time. When it’s time for bed, you’ll find four gorgeous bedrooms to choose from. In the morning, make the most of the badminton and croquet sets on the lawn.

We booked this property as a birthday surprise for our daughter. We were a group of 5 plus a dog so the property was huge but we liked that aspect and it is a beautiful building, full of character. We had our choice of bedrooms and bathrooms and they were all lovely. The views were great and we really needed and enjoyed the peace and quiet. The twoRead more log burners kept us cosy and the table tennis kept us entertained during our stay. We would definitely love to make a return visit. Hide

A wonderful place to stay with friends and family lots of interesting rooms and architectural features. Most of all a welcoming house for our pets and us. The dogs and the grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed playing in the garden. Very nice older property which can easily accommodate 8 adults, lots of space, quiet corners etc. Large garden for dog(s) which was safe and enclosed but be aware of sheep in a neighbouring field. No amenities close, but Abergavenny is a 10 minute drive Overall ideal location for visiting the Brecon beacons.

Great farmhouse with loads of character. Loads of space for our family of seven. The table tennis was enjoyed by all! The showers were great with unlimited hot water. Large rooms with nice comfortable sofas. A great place for a family holiday. We would love to come again!

Fantastic house with so much character. We were a group of 6 adults and 1 dog and we really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful secure garden, excellent facilities, loved centre of Abergavenny and walks were lovely. Would 100% stay again (we checked out a Xmas stay but it was already booked). Thank you for a perfect stay.

Masses of space, inside and out, comfortable beds, copious hot water-would have preferred to deal with the owners as the other 2 companies could not answer queries that cropped up beforehand. A very special house.

A true gem if you like peace and quiet. A very substantial property with comfy beds and plenty of space to relax. The log burners in the two living rooms were a great addition. We were lucky to have snow for a day so could see the lovely green rural landscapes one day followed by white snowy landscapes the next. Would recommend.

We had a wonderful stay there with 2 families. Kids had plenty to do and grown-ups could relax. Well located to give access to south Wales and western England but at the same time nicely rural and calm.

Fabulous house. Amazing space. Grandchildren kept getting lost on the first day! We all had a wonderful time. Weather could have been kinder to us but the table tennis and games room kept us amused when we couldn't get out. Great walk along the canal to The Retreat cafe for the more active of our group, with lovely coffee and food.
