Tucked away on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, this period property is the perfect base for those who love getting outdoors with their adventurous four-legged friend. You’ll be in an ideal position to explore a variety of walking trails, taking you into the heart of the Black Mountains (19 miles) or the beautiful Wye Valley (16.5 miles). There are some fantastic woof-friendly attractions within easy reach, including the Brecon Mountain Railway (22 miles).

The secluded 17th-century cottage looks down the Usk Valley and has a charming, enclosed garden that your pup will adore. After a long walk, unwind in the peaceful lounge with Rover stretched out in front of the cosy wood burner. Hard floors throughout the living area make it easy to deal with the odd muddy pawprint. Enjoy breakfast in the relaxing conservatory, which boasts panoramic views across the spectacular countryside. In the evening, fire up the BBQ and share a delicious dinner on the terrace, before sinking into the private hydro massage, wood-fired hot tub with bubble massage and led lights under the dark skies – ideal for stargazing.

You and your canine buddy can step back in time with a ride on the Brecon Mountain Railway. Soak up the magnificent views as you majestically chug along the full length of the Taf Fechan Reservoir and deep into the national park. Llangorse Lake makes a great doggy day out. You and the hound can take to the water on a variety of vessels to admire the breathtaking scenery or go on a wildlife-watching walk around the western shore towards Llangasty Nature Reserve. If you fancy a challenge, Pen y Fan is just over 30 miles away. Pull on your hiking boots and climb to the summit – the highest mountain in South Wales - for views across the Bristol Channel, Gower Peninsula, and Cambrian Mountains.

We enjoyed our holiday in this lovely cottage, the location is great as long as your comfortable with driving a very tight single lane road. Very comfortable accommodation especially the living room. Hot tub was no problem just light the fire and give it approximately 3hrs to get to temp, this is lower if you keep covered and use regular. The pub iRead mores only a 3 minute stroll and recommend for both food and drink. Great location for walking and relaxing Hide
