Enjoy a home-away-from-home stay in this cosy cottage in the heart of Devon. The property sleeps five guests and two four-pawed pals, making it the ideal accommodation for a rural family getaway. Situated on the edge of Exmoor National Park, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to walking routes to get tails wagging. From wild moorland to dense woodland, the hounds will find plenty to sniff and explore. You’ll also be just over 30 miles from the North Devon coast, with its infamous long sandy beaches and surfing hotspots.

Snuggle up on the comfy sofas, with Fido and Rover curled at your feet, or on a summer’s evening pour yourself a glass of wine and unwind on the patio. French doors join the living space to the garden, meaning the pups can happily drift in and out to the enclosed courtyard. There’s also a handy hallway and cloakroom to store all your dog-walking gear.

Wimbleball Lake (7 miles away), nestled in the hills of Exmoor National Park, is a haven for hounds. You’ll find wide open spaces, as well as a labyrinth of walking trails to investigate. Kids will love the play area and, if you’re feeling adventurous, hire a kayak, boat or board and head out on the water. The nearby market town of Tiverton (7 miles away) has some lovely independent shops to peruse, as well as a fantastic selection of traditional country pubs that welcome four-legged guests. After lunch, enjoy a stroll along the historic canal and look out for the horse-drawn barge. You should also add a trip to Knightshayes to the agenda. Great property, needs a bit of tweaking , as you will see in the photos, lose the garden chair from the lounge, a music player , radio or Alexa would be great , not everyone wants to just watch Tele , books were a great addition of so many different subjects ,only one tee towel, we purchased a couple more from local sauce , and a couple more smaRead morell saucepan's Hide

This was our second visit to woodland cottage and we were not disappointed. It was spotlessly clean and comfortable. All the appliances made our stay easy. The woodland walk into Bampton is delightful and on this visit we saw squirrels plus the male and female pheasant. The plants in the garden were at their best as were the wild flowers along the Read moretramway. We had great food and service at the Swan pub and were able to buy any groceries in the Spar and the local shops. Hide

Everything you would wish for in a holiday cottage, Woodland Cottage has. The house was immaculately clean, the kitchen equipment was brilliant and the house was very dog friendly. It made a perfect base for exploring the local area with several dog friendly pubs close by. We were sad to leave.

Firstly I must say that this was one of the cleanest holiday cottages weve ever stayed at (and weve stay at quite a few over the years !) It has a lovely homely feel to it and had everything you need. It was warm and cosy dispute the awful weather we had during our stay. A nice walk from the front door into the village, which had a great pub calledRead more The Swan which served wonderful food and the staff are lovely and welcoming and very dog friendly. We would definitely recommend it. Hide
