This beautiful property, situated just metres from the River Wye and boasting wonderful views across to Symonds Yat Rock (5.5 miles), is ideal for couples or families – including the pup, of course! Sleeping eight across four cosy bedrooms and with plenty of space for the hound to relax, you could all soon be up and climbing the 120 metres to the top of the rock, or following the river along the Wye Valley footpath. And when it’s time to go home, wash off muddy boots in the utility room and head to your favourite spot to curl up with a good book.

The property, which offers stunning views of treetops down to the river, is spacious and comfortable. The huge contemporary-styled kitchen is a chef’s dream and meals can be enjoyed at the dining table letting the sunshine in through French doors; at night, sink into the sofas in the snug or the lounge in front of the wood burner with the pup by your feet. Upstairs, the bedrooms lend a boutique feel to your stay; each has its own style of soft furnishings to create a peaceful atmosphere. In the morning, head down to the garden to soak up some early rays. Sizzle up a BBQ out here in the evening, or visit the local dog-friendly pub less than 200 metres away.

Take a wander around the many attractions available in the local area. Goodrich Castle (4 miles) welcomes dogs and is ideal for history buffs of any age, while younger minds might enjoy sniffing out clues on the Symonds Yat Treasure Hunt Trail that starts outside a local pub just 4.5 miles away. Discover the fantastic sculptures along the Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail (11 miles), where you can stop for a picnic and the children can enjoy the playground.

We had a fabulous week, 5 adults and a two year old. The cottage is comfortable, spacious and well equipped with easy to manage heating. The little garden was great to sit out and play with the little one. Having a bathroom and shower room was really useful. Some of the towels are a bit worn, I'd take my own next time. Its in a fantastic location wRead moreith walking and things to do, restaurants etc all within easy reach. The parking does need to be carefully done but we got 3 large cars on the drive no problem and there is a pay and display directly opposite. We would happily return. Hide

A good sized "Cottage" for 8, very well set out, with lots of thoughtful detail in the items supplied to make the stay very enjoyable. Peaceful with a good view. Only downside is limited parking space, but we only had 2 small cars, so no problem.

We got three cars on the drive without any problem. The cottage was lovely and the location very good. We really liked YOFI and ate there on eevening. Unfortunately the river was too high for the hand ferry to be operating so we did not check out the other side of the river. One to come back for in the summer!

A Brilliant, large and well equipped house. super compfy beds . Amazing location with walks and pubs on your doorstep. The only improvement would be to have side lights and dimmer switches as the lights were very bright.

Very nice cottage. Well equiped and spacious. Lots of cupboard space. Very good location. The outside patio was a real bonus in the good weather. A short stroll to the pub (which we did often). Great for familes and our dogs.

A lovely cottage situated in a great location. There was plenty of storage space and a good sized kitchen and utility room was much appreciated. Car parking for 3 cars but a easy to use paid car park directly opposite works well for additional cars. Direct walking straight into the forest and walking distance to a nice pub on the riverside.
