Located within its own idyllic grounds, this beautiful Georgian home is the perfect getaway for larger groups of friends and family and their two holidaying hounds. Ideal for special occasions and celebrations, this elegant property sleeps 20 people across seven bedrooms and is a great base for walkers keen to explore the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. Boasting a private hot tub and panoramic views across the River Severn, this home is quite the rural treat.

Surrounded by 3 acres of private gardens and paddocks for the pups to explore, this opulent home is both spacious and characterful. The drawing room is a sociable space to indulge in pre-dinner drinks as the dogs stretch out in front of the open fire, while the cosy snug and conservatory are great for those quieter moments. The most discerning of chefs will love the stylish kitchen, while the large dining hall/library is wonderful for more formal dinners. Keep the party atmosphere going long into the night in the games room, which has table tennis and football. Each of the gorgeous bedrooms have their own unique style with sumptuous beds and antique furnishings. One is located on the ground floor while the other six are on the first floor. Stepping outside, let the furry family members sniff out some fun while you enjoy a soak in the hot tub with a glass of bubbly.

Get a bite to eat at one of the local pubs or tea shop, which are within walking distance. Grab the leads and your walking boots and follow one of the many local footpaths that surround the property, or for something a little fun follow the 4-mile Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail (9 miles). To discover a bit of history, explore the fascinating Goodrich Castle (13.5 miles) which welcomes dogs.

  • 2 en-suite bathrooms, 3 en-suite shower rooms, 1 shower room ( all of the showers are 1200 x 800 with ample hot water and  powered to provide ample pressure)
  • 3 electric fan cookers, electric induction hob, microwave, 2 dishwashers, fridge/freezer, larder fridge, wine cooler, Nespresso machine, washing machine and tumble dryer
  • Private hot tub - please bring your owner robes and towels for use with the hot tub
  • TVs in the snug and drawing room with an extensive selection of DVDs.
  • Games room with table tennis and table football, and disco room with music centre
  • Children's games, croquet, boules, badminton
  • Open fire (first basket of logs included)

  • 2 well behaved dogs welcome - £15 per night, per dog, payable direct to the owner at the property (dogs must be kept downstairs and off furniture, not permitted in the sitting or dining rooms)
  • Electricity - allocation of 55 Kilowatts per day in the summer months and 95 Kilowatts per day in the winter, from 1st October to 30th April. These figures have been assessed by monitoring usage. Any use over these figures will be charged to guests at the current rate. The owner will write to guests in advance of their stay with details of this and owner will also provide them with a key to the meter so that they can check their own usage
  • Sunday departures are able to check out at 4pm, must be arranged directly with the owner
  • This property will be decorated for Christmas

Beautiful House in a perfect location. House was very well equipped with everything that we could possibly need. The location was ideal for exploring the glorious Wye Valley and Forest of Dean.

Excellent house and beautifully presented. All guests commented on how comfy the beds were and how nice the bedrooms were too. Amazing view of the River Severn. Kitchen and house very well catered for in every respect. Thanks very much for helping us all enjoy a brilliant weekend!

Alvington Manor is the perfect location for a holiday in the Wye valley. The house and gardens are superb well maintained With pretty much everything you could possibly want.
