Unwind in this characterful stone-built cottage, ideal for couples seeking a tranquil holiday and serving as a perfect base from which to explore the magnificent landscapes and fells of the Lake District. Skelwith Bridge offers a fantastic array of walks you can enjoy straight from your door, ranging from short ambles to full-day hikes. Only 2.5 miles away and known to the locals as the jewel in Lakeland's crown, is Ambleside, where you can indulge at plentiful eateries and browse the shops. Grasmere is just 8 miles away and offers a quieter, more relaxed pace, set against a backdrop of the stunning scenery that's inspired creatives for centuries. Enjoy walks to the top of Loughrigg Fell for marvellous panoramic views, or take an easier walk at Tarn Hows – both within 5 miles. Alternatively, head to Bowness-on-Windermere for a memorable trip by boat on Lake Windermere.

Step inside this charming country cottage and you can leave your cares behind as you're greeted by a welcoming, spacious open-plan living room, kitchen and dining room with stone-flagged floors. The space is light and airy, with plenty of contemporary styling that blends with classic cottage features. After a day exploring the fells, sink into the comfortable sofa set in front of the feature fireplace, which houses a beautiful wood burner. Pop a log on the fire to create a cosy ambience, perfect for snuggling up on the couch with a drink and watching your favourite box set on the Smart TV. The window seat is the perfect place to catch up on your reading. When it is time to eat, rustle up a lazy brunch, a picnic to go, or a tasty dinner in the kitchen area, which has all the appliances you need to make meal preparation a breeze. Just in front and to the right of the seating is the table, carefully placed with artwork above it to create a dedicated dining space. The cottage is on a single level; walk through and drift off to sleep in the lovely double bedroom, featuring an antique double bed and wake up refreshed for your next day of adventures. The bedroom has a stylish en-suite shower room.

Wander out into the enclosed, lawned garden, where thoughtfully placed seating allows you to take in the sights and sounds of the river and spot the visiting wildlife. Private parking for one car is available.
