A charming retreat that retains plenty of original character features, this property is the perfect place to head for a group holiday to Appleby in Cumbria. Thanks to being such a great base to explore the Eden Valley, North Pennines and Lake District National Park, families or groups of friends who visit with their beloved dogs will have a fantastic time, as will Fido.

This attractive home has plenty of wow factor from the moment you approach it. Enter through an attractive stone archway with a covered porch – the ideal spot to wipe off any muddy paws and leave muddy boots. From there, go to the hallway which leads to the well-equipped kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is stylish with a Belfast sink, an Everhot range and a kitchen island, while the lovely dining table overlooks the garden which is fully enclosed. Guests and dogs alike will love spending time outside in the garden, thanks to it being a suntrap and a great place to head when the weather allows – or simply to let the dog out when it doesn’t. Back inside, the ground floor also has a WC and spacious lounge to relax in. Upstairs are the three delightful bedrooms. The master is king-size with an en-suite shower room while the other two double rooms have use of the family bathroom with a shower over the bath.

Appleby itself is about 2.5 miles away. It has all the amenities guests should need, including dog-friendly pubs where canine companions can be assured of a warm welcome. Of course, dogs will also be happy to know that there are plenty of opportunities for walkies during a stay near Appleby.

A Lovely barn conversion, great sized of all rooms. Main bed was very firm (no topper) and a rather noisy, creaky home. Parking a bit of a pain when neighbours had people over. Heating was great - really warm (apart from when it constantly tripped but easy to fix for us but maybe not for everyone). Everwarm AGA was a fun experience. Garden not as bRead moreig as we hoped but fine for our dog. Nice relaxing place for Christmas. Hide
