Your pampered pup will go barking mad when you book a break at this romantic bolthole for two. Set close to Lake Windermere, the one-bedroom hideaway is a handy base for lakeside strolls and fell rambles, and offers a cosy lounge with a wood burner to return to after energetic days out.
Follow your furry friend through the front door and straight into the lounge/diner, a welcoming space with flagstone flooring and a cosy wood burner. The dining table is set to one side, and once you have eaten this is the perfect spot for cosy, after-dinner chats, an evening with a book or a show streamed on the Smart TV as your hound snores. There is one step up to the compact kitchen, fitted with everything you’ll need for preparing delicious meals, and room on the floor for a dog bowl, too. Also on the ground floor are a handy space for hanging leads and storing walking boots, and a contemporary shower room. Say goodnight to your canine and head upstairs, to find the elegant king-size bedroom, enhanced by rugged beams and bespoke oak furnishings. For morning coffee or evening drinks, step out onto the patio, or wander further (with your pet under close supervision) and explore the wider gardens, which are unenclosed and border fields with sheep. Off-road parking is provided for one car.
The cottage is located with another, larger holiday property in delightful grounds in Bowness, the largest town in the Lake District National Park. The beauty spot of Brant Fell is a 1-mile climb, while the Bowness-on-Windermere Circular takes you on a 5.5-mile circuit with spectacular views. From the lakeside jetty (1 mile) you can take a dog-friendly boat trip and enjoy the iconic scenery of England’s largest natural lake.
