  • Outdoor seating to relax after days out exploring the Peak District and Pennine Way
Property code: OC-91797

Head out over the hills with your happy hound by your side when you stay at this cottage in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire. Sleeping six guests, the three-bedroom holiday home is a superb, dog-friendly option for anyone seeking to explore picturesque countryside from a comfortable base. Situated in the market town made famous by the long-running BBC series Last of the Summer Wine, it is an airy retreat with outdoor seating areas where you and your canine companion can take in the magnificent views.

Make your way into the kitchen/diner to hang coats and dog leads, fill water bowls and put the kettle on. Feed your famished four-legged friend in here and prepare tasty meals for your family and friends with the fresh, Yorkshire produce you have bought in town. Gather round the table to enjoy your feast before heading through to the comfortable lounge with your pup. Settle in here on the comfortable seating in front of the TV, while your furry friend finds himself a quiet corner. Leave him sleeping downstairs as you climb the stairs to the first floor of the cottage, taking care because of the restricted head-height in places. Choose between a twin bedroom, which can also be made up as a king-size by prior arrangement, and two doubles. The family bathroom is also at this level. Awake on fine mornings to take your delighted dog for a stroll and return to sit out to the front or back of the cottage over morning coffee.

Venture 3.5 miles from the cottage to reach the Peak District National Park, with its many footpaths and trails to follow with your furry friend. Pick up the Pennine Way 5.5 miles away or follow a section of the Trans Pennine Trail, which runs from coast to coast across northern England.

  • 3 bedrooms – 2 doubles, 1 twin zip-and-link (can be made into a king on request)
  • 1 bathroom with shower  and WC
  • Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, airfryer, washing machine and dishwasher
  • Welcome pack
  • Smart TV in lounge
  • Enclosed front courtyard with seating area and rear seating area
  • Parking for up to two cars directly outside the property
  • Outhouse for secure cycle storage Shop, pub and restaurant within 0.5 miles

  • Departure: before 10:00
  • 2 dogs allowed. Additional charges may apply

The cottage is thoroughly delightful in a wonderful location. It is beautifully clean and in exceptional condition. We went as a couple with two dogs and had plenty of space. The views are wonderful and if you are OK with walking up a hill then it is easy enough to walk into town and back.
