This fantastic property, located 18 miles from York, is perfect for you and your guests – including the four-legged ones! Sleeping six across three peaceful bedrooms and with plenty of space for up to two dogs, this cottage is an opportunity for you to have a relaxing holiday while still being close to visitor attractions to keep everyone happy. Get lost in York Maze (14 miles) or stroll the grounds of National Trust property Treasurer’s House (18 miles).

 

The property, which sits behind a gated driveway, is spacious and comfortable. The huge kitchen diner is bright and airy with a contemporary style, while patio doors in the lounge give you views to the garden and make for a cosy place to unwind in, both day and night. Draw the curtains in the evening and put the wood burner on, curling up with a good book or your favourite show on the Smart TV while the pups snooze by your feet. Upstairs, the bedrooms lend an indulgent feel to your stay; wake up refreshed, take a shower (watch the head height in the bathrooms and bedrooms!) and head down to the stunning garden for an al fresco breakfast.

 

See over 60 historic aircraft and vehicles at the Yorkshire Air Museum (13 miles) and discover the fascinating displays. The Yorkshire Museum of Farming (18.5 miles) has something to keep children of all ages occupied, while City Cruises York (17.5 miles) gives you the opportunity to see local landmarks from the river that the Vikings used to enter York. Sniff out clues on the Bingley Mystery Treasure Trail (18.5 miles) which is fun for all the family, or try Hunt Fun that starts from the tourist information centre (19 miles) and is an ideal way to discover all the city’s attractions with your hounds. The cottage was really lovely and clean and in a really nice village location. The village was small but lovely. We didnt get to go to the pub as was so tired after our days out. The pub at the time was not doing food so that didnt prompt us to go. The owners were really lovely and welcoming on arrival as they live next door to the cottage. BeRead moreds were extremely comfortable which we needed after a long day out. The cottage was in a location that was central to get to all the other villages we visited, York, Beverley, Bridlington, stamton Bridge, Pocklington. We would certainly like to return. Hide

Excellent for us as we are 3 friends who like to have an en-suite bathroom each. We can certainly recommend it. The owner welcomed us at the property and we felt that had there been any issue we could contact him. Ellerton is very peaceful; lots of trees and bird song. The pub in the village was convenient for us and we enjoyed having a drink theRead morere. Everyone was very friendly. The owners were very thorough in the information given in e-mails before we got to the property. We were able to plan where to visit and where to eat in advance. A superb place to stay. Warm Yorkshire welcome. Three lovely, comfy bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. Ample equipment in the kitchen, lots of space, a dishwasher, a washing machine and reclining sofas were all splendid. What is not to like. Very, very good accommodation. Beds and sofas comfortable, showers wonderful. It couldn't have been better. Although Andy and Jo were next door they never bothered us and Andy helped with the TV. Little owl barn was an exceptional cottage maintained to a very high standard and hosts Andy & Jo were extremely welcoming. It was in a beautiful location for exploring Yorkshire & the boot & shoe inn staff & customers made us all very welcome. I would have no hesitation on recommending it to others.

Little Owl Barn was perfect for our needs. It's in a quiet village, with easy access to the Yorkshire coast, and just a 20 minute drive to the York Park & Ride. Really lovely cottage with great amenities and a lovely secure garden, which was perfect as we had a pet dog with us. The owners were lovely and very helpful and it was fabulous to hear and see the owls (Tawney not Little :) ) in the evenings.

This property is modern with a large kitchen good cupboard space and plenty utensils the lighting around the units are a nice touch, the settees are very comfortable with feet up option . Comfy beds too, headroom upstairs may be a bit low for tall people, but overall we were not disappointed. Lovely and comfortable. We liked the spacious feeling of the downstairs living accommodation. The log burner- with logs and kindling provided- was a nice touch. The welcome pack was a lovely surprise. Obviously dog friendly and the bowls, towel and treats left for the dogs were welcomed.

Lovely house well positioned for our trip to York. We stayed in February with two teenage children and a dog. The house was cosy and warm and really well equipped with everything that we needed. The owners live next door and were really friendly and helpful and were happy to offer tips and advice to help with our day trip into York.

A beautifully kept property in a lovely rural location. The hosts Jo and Andy were so welcoming and helpful. We had a fantastic stay and will definitely be returning. Truly dog friendly and our pups loved it as much as we did.

Its a lovely place to stay the owners were very helpful.it was a bit unfortunate there was work going on outside and it was very noisy all day but that is finishing soon I believe. The oaks golf club is near by and the staff are very friendly and the food is excellent would recommend.

We really enjoyed our holiday at Little Owl Barn. It was a great location and was the perfect short break we needed. Rural but not too far away from places to visit. The cottage was lovely, spacious and perfect for the five of us.

Very comfortable, spacious and well equipped cottage. Owners have clearly given a lot of thought and attention to detail as to what you would need. Cottage is in a quiet village so most locations require a drive. Owners were very welcoming and helpful.

We have stayed here before and always find the owners welcoming. They give you a little pack of essentials .There is lots to do in the area and just a short bus ride into York we have visited the Great Yorkshire show which is a great day out There are lots of other days out as well something for everyone is on the doorstep
