Stay on the brink of the South Downs National Park in this unique barn-style property, heading out to visit beautiful countryside and the charming city of Winchester close by. A true rural retreat, this holiday home is set amongst 15 acres of woodland and sits directly opposite a field of grazing horses. It happily sleeps two guests and two canine companions, with a further property on the estate hosting two more guests if needed.

This delightfully contemporary property is all set out on one level, boasting a well-appointed and welcoming decor throughout. Go barking mad for the glorious open-plan living area, where high vaulted ceilings and original beams create a wonderful space to relax. Floor-to-ceiling windows on one wall boast stunning country views and flood the property with light, a cheerful space to relax. Your canine companion can curl up by the window and watch wildlife pass by in the shared garden whilst you prepare dinner or unwind in front of the TV. Leave Fido napping in the generous lounge whilst you retire to bed, finding a comfortable king-size to sink into.

Leave no stick unfetched in the vast South Downs National Park, which begins just 1 mile from your doorstep. Take the leash and head out on some unforgettable walkies, visiting the beauty spot of Old Winchester Hill just 11.5 miles away. Speaking of which, the eclectic city of Winchester can be found 10 miles away and is well worth a trip in the car. Wander its historic streets and stop off in dog-friendly pubs along the way. For trips to the seafront, head to Southampton (7.5 miles) or Portsmouth (18 miles) or pack up your tennis balls for games of fetch on the shingle Hill Head Beach (14 miles).

We were lucky to be the only occupants when we arrived. The lovely view over the fields with the horses/ponies was very restful on the mind. Just what I needed to recover from a persistent illness. By the end of the week's holiday, the 24 C steady underfloor heating (ideal when we had Storm Goretti), and rest from home domestic responsibilities hadRead more put me right again. Location was ideal since home to accommodation was within an hour and a cup of tea drunk and relaxed for a down time with books. Hide
