This pretty property, set just 1.5 miles from the pretty village of Carlton-in-Cleveland, is the ideal retreat for couples or a small family who want to bring their loyal hounds along. Sleeping four across two welcoming bedrooms and with plenty of space for two dogs inside and out, where you will find an enclosed paved area with feature hot tub, this cottage is an opportunity to get away from busy modern life and relax among the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside. Take the pups on walks around Osmotherley (9 miles) or take a day trip to the coast where they can run free on the beach.

The cottage, which is one of two properties on the same complex, has a wonderful homely feel. The kitchen/diner is sleek and stylish with everything you need to cook up a storm and eat at the reclaimed oak table. Calming, neutral tones in the lounge make it warm and cosy; fire up the wood burner and sink into the sofas, curling up with a good book or watching your favourites on the TV while your canine companions snooze on the rug. Take a relaxing soak in the stylish bathroom after a long day out before heading to bed in the tranquil bedrooms for a peaceful night’s sleep.

Nearby town Stokesley (3 miles) holds a market every Friday which is perfect for picking up some local produce. You can find plenty of independent shops, cafes and restaurants here. The sculpture trail at Guisborough Forest (8.5 miles) is perfect for taking the pups for a stroll while others try their hand at archery or climbing. Preston Park Museum and Grounds (12.5 miles) is set amongst 100 acres of parkland overlooking the River Tees; the museum is perfect for children to discover while the hounds can experience the woodland and riverside paths.

We had a really enjoyable stay. Beautiful countryside, good cycling and roads (can do flat or hills) - the hot tub was a great way to relax after a strenuous day. Would definitely go again.

Cottage was very comfortable, my daughter used the hot tub quite a lot, I couldn't get in it which was a great disappointment to me! Whilst we enjoyed our stay at Hare House the cottage was not "luxury" as described and the lack of secure outdoor space for our dog was an issue. The location was pretty and peaceful. We made the most of exploring the local area and walking the dog along the lanes. The bed and new sofa were comfy and we enjoyed the log fire. Beautiful and quiet location. The wife and I (and 2 dogs) thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a 2 week stay and were out visiting new locations every day. Johnathon(the owner) was approachable and helpful with any concerns that arose and quickly remedied.
