Indulge in a stylish Lakeland getaway with your loved ones at this beautiful former stable sitting in the picturesque village of Ambleside. Sleeping four people across two bedrooms, it's an ideal accommodation choice for couples or small groups in search of a tranquil base to call home while they explore the Lake District together. Spend happy days discovering Ambleside's many attractions on your doorstep. Take a stroll to the imposing Stock Ghyll Force waterfall (1 mile) and then head into the village to visit one of the national park's most photographed buildings – the 17th-century Bridge House. The charming town of Windermere (4.5 miles) beckons with its array of shops and eateries, plus nearby attractions including the World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, Brockhole on Windermere, and Windermere Lake Cruises. Soak up the local history with a visit to Rydal Mount (2 miles), the former home of the poet William Wordsworth.

As you approach this welcoming bolthole, take a moment to appreciate its unique shape and stone exterior surrounded by greenery, setting the scene for a memorable Lakeland stay. Head inside, kick off your muddy walking boots in the porch, and be greeted by the social heart of the home – the whitewashed lounge/diner. This peaceful room is ideal for unwinding between days of adventure; sink into the soft seating, flick on the Smart TV, and start planning tomorrow's itinerary. Nearby, the wooden dining table invites the group to gather around for a Cumbrian feast cooked up in the sleek kitchen in the next room. Stylish and airy, the kitchen boasts everything needed for a self-catered stay. Completing the ground floor is a well-appointed family bathroom with a shower over the bath. Upstairs, set under the sloping eaves of the building, await two restful bedrooms designed for relaxation. Choose from a double room and a flexible super-king-size bedroom that converts to a twin on request. A separate WC serves the bedrooms and completes the home.

Spill outside when the sun shines and gather at the seating area for peaceful morning coffees and well-earned evening tipples. As well as tranquil lawned gardens, you'll also benefit from private parking for one car, with additional on-street spaces subject to availability.

Fell Set is in is good location and is well equipped for an enjoyable stay. My only minor niggle is that the parking is not quite as promise. There is definitely not enough space for 2 large cars.

Traditional lakes cottage, spotlessly clean in a prime location in Ambleside, minutes walk from the town centre with many walks from the cottage. The cottage is also close to the main bus routes. Well equipped cottage, cosy bedrooms, seating area at the rear and with the gates closed at the front, the grassed area was safe for our dog. We do believRead moree the lounge is big enough to take 2 two seater sofa's rather than the one and two chairs. That would be our only negative if we had been a four person staying. We will be back, it was a beautiful stay. Hide
