Property code: OC-LR192

Set within the heart of Ambleside, this stylish ground-floor apartment provides a welcoming bolthole for two guests and their four-legged explorer, placing you within easy reach of lakeside paths, fell walks and village charm.

Inside, kick off walking shoes and lead your furry traveller into a bright studio-style living area. The layout brings together a compact kitchen, dining area, lounge and a king-size bed in one open and airy setting. On warmer days, patio doors can be opened to bring in fresh Lakeland air after walks with your furry pal. The kitchen is well equipped for preparing meals, which can be enjoyed at the dining table or outside in the covered seating area. In the evening, settle into the lounge to catch up on the Smart TV before heading to the comfortable king-size bed. The en-suite shower room with a walk-in shower provides a refreshing end to days spent exploring trails and lakeshores. Outside, the covered seating area is a pleasant spot for morning coffee or evening meals while your four-legged friend potters nearby. Secure bike storage is available for outdoor gear, a shared office space supports those needing to check in online, and private parking for one car makes arrivals and day trips straightforward.

From the doorstep, Ambleside's highlights are all within walking distance. The 17th-century Bridge House sits 0.5 miles away, while Stock Ghyll Force waterfall (1 mile) is a rewarding woodland walk where curious noses can follow the sound of rushing water. Rydal Mount (2 miles), once home to William Wordsworth, brings literary history surrounded by walking routes (dogs on the lead in the grounds), while Grasmere (4 miles) invites a circular waterside trail and a taste of its famous gingerbread. From Waterhead Pier, boat trips head across Windermere to Bowness and Lakeside for even more aquatic adventures with Fido.

Lovely property, well thought out with parking right outside the door. Its up a steep hill when walking back from town so be prepared for this. Interior is nice, clean but the sofa and bed could do with being updated. The chair is a waste of space and would recommend a 3 seater sofa. The bed is very creaky and uncomfortable and needs replaced. And Read morethat's the reason for the score of 4 and if these were addressed I would stay again. Furniture could do with updating and would have got 5 stas Hide

The property has a lot of good points, it's in a convenient but quiet location, it's cosy and warm yet light and airy, has easy parking right outside and is good value for money. However we felt that it was let down by some uncomfortable furniture. The small sofa is fine but the chair is particularly uncomfortable. The mattress, described as being Read more'plush', is actually noisy and on its last legs. Also we had to be careful with the shower as the water easily spills over the base and onto the floor unless you remove the cover over the plug hole. Hide
