A welcoming Lake District retreat, this townhouse is perfect for groups of family members or friends. Sleeping six people, the three-bedroom, three-storey retreat is in the popular village of Windermere, within 0.5 miles of shops and eateries and 1 mile from the shores of the picturesque lake. Take a cruise out onto the water to spot wildlife and take in the astounding views. Board a steam train and journey through your magnificent surroundings on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway. Head just over 5 miles to bustling Ambleside, with its shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. While you are here, stroll, take the shuttle or travel on a horse-drawn carriage to Waterhead at the top of the lake, less than 1 mile away. Those who love the great outdoors will wish to lace up their boots and hike to Orrest Head, 1 mile from the cottage, and School Knott, 1.5 miles away.

Climb three stone steps up to the front door of the house, then step inside and make your way downstairs to the inviting lounge on the lower ground floor. This comfortable space, which is the perfect place to socialise and relax, features a collection of soft sofas arranged around the wood burner and the Smart TV. From here, wander through to the modern kitchen/diner to prep for the next meal. Open the door to the garden so you can wander out into the sunshine. There is a handy porch here too, for storing your muddy footwear. Gather round the table in the kitchen for casual meals and snacks or head up to the ground floor dining area for your more formal holiday meals. One of your double bedrooms, which has an en-suite shower room, is also at this level. Climb the stairs to the first floor to two more double bedrooms and a family bathroom where you can soak your cares away in the tub.

While away afternoons out in the courtyard garden, chatting and relaxing. Dine out here together on warm evenings. Parking for this cottage is on the street, subject to availability.

The house was absolutely lovely. It felt super homely & smelt lovely on arrival. The beds were really comfortable & the bedrooms were spacious. The en-suite shower has a quite high step up into the cubicle. The kitchen was well equipped however a ladle & a larger ceramic type oven dish would be advantageous for family bakes. Also, pint glasses woulRead mored be epic too as we felt the glasses weren't big enough. We didn't use the dining room on the first floor just the table in the kitchen as carrying hot food/plates up the stairs we didn't want to do. It was a lovey quiet place to stay & great location for local walks, Windermere town & the green area with park! A good selection of books, jigsaws & family games which were enjoyed in the rainy days. It's been one of the best stays we have had in the Lake District & would definitely stay again but also would use Lakeland Retreats again as they were excellent. Hide

The cottage was amazing, very thoughtfully set out to a high standard with everything you could need to enjoy a week in the lakes. The location was great as having the park so close was a lovely walk into town for the dogs. Would definitely stay again thank you

Spotlessly clean - like a home from home. Had everything we needed. It was better than expected - the photos don't do it justice. Comfortable beds and fantastic kitchen. It was lovely sitting out in the back yard! Walkable into Windermere.

We had a lovely stay in Cornflower Cottage, it's in a great location for exploring the lakes and just a short walk into Windermere town and down to the lake. The house is extremely well equipped and very clean, we would highly recommend it.
