Take a cruise out onto the water to spot wildlife and take in the astounding views. Board a steam train and journey through your magnificent surroundings on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway. Head just over 5 miles to bustling Ambleside, with its shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. While you are here, stroll, take the shuttle or travel on a horse-drawn carriage to Waterhead at the top of the lake, less than 1 mile away. Those who love the great outdoors will wish to lace up their boots and hike to Orrest Head, 1 mile from the cottage, and School Knott, 1.5 miles away.
Climb three stone steps up to the front door of the house, then step inside and make your way downstairs to the inviting lounge on the lower ground floor. This comfortable space, which is the perfect place to socialise and relax, features a collection of soft sofas arranged around the wood burner and the Smart TV. From here, wander through to the modern kitchen/diner to prep for the next meal. Open the door to the garden so you can wander out into the sunshine. There is a handy porch here too, for storing your muddy footwear.
