The cottage seemed the perfect choice for us interms of location, appearance and facilities. The main deciding factor was the private enclosed garden. We chose this as we have a guardian breed dog so he needs a private space. Unfortunately it isn't a private garden. It is shared with the owners of the property, so we had to keep the dog inside anRead mored accompany him when in the garden. There was also a leaking roof, with a bucket placed underneath to catch the rain! The path to the front door is very overgrown so when it rains (and it did) you brush against wet leaves and catch your legs on trailing plants. The cleanliness wasn't upto our standards, but appreciate that is subjective. The Prosecco and chocolates were a lovely touch on arrival as was the information pack that was emailed to us before we arrived giving history on the house and places to eat and drink in the area. We chose Walnut Tree Cottage because of its unique charm and character, from the moment we walked up the path we loved its ambience, it is cosy and comfortable. The garden is an absolute gem and our dog Oscar loved it. The village of Hadlow has everything from good local shops, cafe, pharmacy and pleasant walks along local footpaths for us and ourRead more dog. We stayed there for three months as one of us was recovering from a broken shoulder and what a pleasure it was. Stephanie and Martin were the most kind, thoughtful hosts and we hope to return there again one day. We thoroughly recommend this property. Hide

Charming cottage ,well located for local places of interest. Lovely coffeeshop / antique shop across the road and a mini Supermarket. Tonbridge only a 10 min drive away. Set back from quite a busy road but didn't really notice and it did not affect our stay in the cottage. Owners lived adjacent and were always to hand to assist with anything. We had a wonderful relaxing stay in this beautiful cottage. We arrived to a Christmas tree and a garden full of lights , a bottle of Prosecco and treats to celebrate the New Year. The whole house was warm and cosy. The owners were quick to reply to any queries we had, both before our holiday and during our stay. Very nice cottage however don't rely on the bath as it is very difficult to get into. Also make sure you are under 6 foot as you are likely to hit your head Very noisy at night from through traffic
