This pretty property, situated in the peaceful village of Godshill on the edge of the New Forest National Park, is the perfect bolthole for a romantic holiday – with the pup in tow, of course! Sleeping you both in a cosy double bed with plenty of space for the hound to snooze, this detached studio chalet is an opportunity to get out and explore as well as enjoy a relaxing break away from busy life. Take a gentle walk through quiet woodland to the site of an Iron Age hill fort, which starts just half a mile away.

The property, which is adjacent to the owners’ home, is spacious and comfortable in an open-plan style. The stylish kitchen area is fresh and bright with everything you need to cook up a romantic meal and eat at the table for two, while the comfy sofa invites you to sink back in front of the Smart TV, your canine companion curled up at your feet. At bedtime, snuggle into the double bed; wake up among calming grey and yellow tones and head to the decking for an al fresco breakfast. Fire up the BBQ out here on sunny evenings or simply bubble away in the hot tub.

See if you can spot the deer in Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary (12 miles), which also has lots of walking and cycling trails to discover; bring a picnic to make a day of it. Take in the stunning features of Salisbury Cathedral (12 miles), including Britain’s tallest spire and Europe’s oldest working clock; dogs are welcome and will find water bowls by the refectory. Pay your respects to Knightwood Oak (14 miles), the largest oak tree in the New Forest, or wander the 200 acres of gardens and woodland at Exbury Gardens and Steam Railway (23 miles).

This was our second stay at the chalet, and once again, it did not disappoint! Even with a few April showers, our holiday was thoroughly enjoyable, and the hot tub was the perfect way to make up for the rainy weather. Pam is an exceptional host, and the chalets thoughtful amenities, along with her delicious homemade lemon cake, made us feel truly wRead moreelcome. As it was our second stay, we were also delighted by a complimentary bottle of wine, which was so kind. The surrounding area is stunning, with plenty of nature walks and the chance to see gorgeous wildlife :) Hide

This chalet is absolutely lovely and surrounded by lots of nature and had a tranquil feel to it. It was the perfect size for me, my husband and our little sausage dog. We enjoyed doing so many different country walks near the Chalet, and the hot tub was a real treat to relax in after all the walking. The owner Pam is lovely and her daughter makes tRead morehe most tasty lemon cake. Theres also a local pub thats walking distance from the chalet. We will definitely stay here again :) Hide

The Hot tub worked perfectly and was a pleasure to use. The region is beautiful and I will miss the evening walks where I would see in turn cows, donkeys, horses or deer. Maybe the slight reservation I had was that the chalet runs parallel to the owner's property. That means that both windows look onto their property and as the garden fence is quitRead moree low wherever you stand in the garden you are visible from their side. So not ideal if you want 100% privacy but I still had a very nice holiday. Hide

Great place in a super location. We took our dog and he enjoyed himself, the garden was big enough when we weren't exploring. Good walking straight out the door. The Fighting Cocks pub is an easy walk, very welcoming to dogs and serves good food. No need to use the car. The hot tub is a great luxury and really relaxing.

The cottage is just perfect. The position is absolutely gorgeous and stunning in every respect. Be prepared to have lots of visits from the free roaming donkeys and ponies. Also had woodpeckers in the tree looking for ripe plums. At night there were deer and badgers around if you remained very still and quiet. Just the best experience ever.

We had a really lovely stay at the Chalet. The hosts were great, especially Pam who was extremely accommodating when we had to return home for a family emergency but it was no trouble when we asked if we could return to finish the holiday, issue resolved. Freshly made bed and towels as the chalet had already been partly stripped for the following wRead moreeek, plus a bottle of wine and two glasses waiting for us on the patio table. Lovely accommodation, great for dog owners, great welcome pack and CAKE! Hide
