  • Wonderfully converted former stable block in a studio style layout
  • Ideal bolthole for a couple looking to celebrate any occasion
  • Located on the fringes of Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
Property code: OC-78388

Enjoy a romantic retreat in this rural bolthole, with your trusty four-legged companion by your side. The property is perfectly placed to experience peaceful walks with the woofy one through the gorgeous Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, either following the Stour Valley Path (1 mile away) through ‘Constable Country’ or going off the beaten track to explore the classic English countryside. Alternatively, head to the coast (15 miles away) where you’ll find a great dog-friendly beach at Walton-on-the-Naze and fabulous coastal walks.

This charming studio apartment, in a former stable block, has an open-plan living area where you can chill out on the sofa and watch TV after a long countryside walk. Should you choose to dine in, there is a table and chairs in the lounge area for a cosy meal for two. On a summer’s evening, pour a glass of wine and unwind on the shared patio area, or enjoy a pre-dinner stroll with Rover around the shared green in front of the property. After a tiring day of adventure, sink into the sumptuous king-size bed.

As well as the Stour Valley Path, you’ll also have another long-distance route at your fingertips/paws. The 81-mile Essex Way passes directly through Manningtree, and you can follow it along the River Stour all the way to Harwich on the coast (13 miles away). This fascinating town is steeped in seafaring history and makes for an interesting afternoon potter. Pack a picnic and a bone and spend a relaxing day at Walton-on-the-Naze. The pup can charge around on the large dog-friendly section of the sandy beach, before joining you for a wild and windy jaunt around the headland, where there are 300 acres of grassland and saltmarsh to sniff and explore.

The setting of stable 1 is very peaceful and you can park right outside. Lovely property, nicely decorated, good location. Kitchen very small but well equipped.

A good central location for visiting National Trust sites in Essex and Suffolk , also a short distance to the coastal towns. The accommodation is light and spacious with a comfortable bed. It is a welcome retreat after a day out. The booking fee also needs to be on the same page as the cottage rental, so that the full cost is seen before you go Read morethrough the payment section. It seems a little underhand not to have this cost upfront, unless you are embarrassed that it is too much... which it is.

Well situated for visiting the beautiful Dedham Vale with its pretty villages and lovely wool towns. Cottages living/sleeping area is very bright and spacious but kitchen and bathroom are very small.

It was a lovely place, well thought out. it was enjoyable eating our meals at the table with a south facing view watching the pigeons, squirrels and rabbits. We greatly appreciated the modern shower and the heated towel rail and the large towels supplied. The kitchen included a proper oven and a 4 ring Induction hob. (not all properties have these.Read more) The large double bed was comfortable. It's a letting we can thoroughly recommend. Hide
