Other nearby places of interest including Brockhole on Windermere, Rydal Cave and Tarn Hows all within 6 miles.

A few steps lead up to the front garden and then through into the cottage where you will be greeted by the spacious, beautifully arranged open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The snug and inviting lounge is an ideal space for you all to unwind in, with a welcoming wood burner set in a stone inglenook, alongside ample comfortable seating and a Smart TV set against the window seat. Behind the lounge area, the sociable dining table is perfect for getting together for a family meal which you can prepare in the fully equipped shaker style kitchen. Going upstairs you will find two light and tastefully decorated bedrooms: a cheery king-size room and a lovely twin, each with a refreshing en-suite shower room.

Stepping outside, the delightful south-facing garden has a sweet lawn and outdoor furniture, providing a lovely spot for a quiet drink in the evening and for taking in the tranquil views of the surrounding fells. A private parking space is available for one car.

Apple Tree Cottage is a lovely, cosy cottage. It's small but perfectly formed! And it still had enough places to store all our things for our 5 day stay (family of 4, plus dog). As with all cottages we have stayed at with Lakeland Retreats it had everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. Beds were very comfy and the whole house lovely andRead more clean. It's located slightly out of Ambleside town centre, at the top of a hill, only a 10 minute walk to the shops and restaurants though. One thing to mention if you have younger kids - the stairs are quite steep and don't have a bannister beside them. I think if our kids were younger I'd have been very carefully watching them up and down the stairs! Hide

The cottage is very cosy & has everything you need for a short stay. All appliances were good quality and worked. We found it very convenient for walking into Ambleside & also for travelling to the surrounding villages.
