This beautiful holiday lodge is just outside the coastal town of Ryde on the Isle of Wight’s east coast. The two-bedroom bolthole welcomes four guests and two pups, making it an excellent couples’ retreat or base for a small family. Enjoy woodland dog walks from your front door, or head to nearby paw-friendly attractions such as Blackgang Chine, Brading Roman Villa, and Carisbrooke Castle (all within 15 miles).
The wood-clad lodge, which sits alongside similar holiday homes, enjoys leafy views across the park to the distant fields. The main living space is a bright and airy lounge/kitchen/diner with a vaulted ceiling and ample space for you and your waggy-tailed chums. In one corner is a country-style kitchen for preparing family feasts, which you can share at the elegant table by the window. In the evenings, sink into a plump sofa with the hounds curled at your feet, to read a book or watch the Smart TV. The lodge has two coastal-themed bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite shower room. A refreshing family bathroom completes the accommodation. A decked balcony envelops the lodge, providing a sunny spot for an al fresco meal. You and your four-pawed pals are welcome to explore the grounds, which include ancient woodlands and two fishing lakes. Private parking is available for three cars.
Ryde (2.5 miles) is a vibrant seaside town with a fantastic range of shops, eateries, and attractions. The sandy beach has a large section that welcomes woofers all year, and there are some lovely walks along the shoreline or the promenade, or following the Isle of Wight Coast Path. The town has a busy calendar of events throughout the year, including a beach sports festival and classic car show, and just outside the town you and the pups can board the Isle of Wight Steam Railway.
