This inviting holiday home is in the historic town of Castle Douglas in Dumfries and Galloway. The spacious property welcomes five guests and one furry friend, making it a fantastic base for larger families. The surrounding area is a haven for dog-walkers, with popular routes at Loch Ken and Galloway Forest Park. The elegant townhouse has a home-away-from-home vibe, with plush soft furnishings and little nods to its Scottish heritage in the accessories and artwork. Leave muddy boots and dog leads in the hallway, before heading through to the spacious lounge/diner. This light and airy room boasts wooden floors, high ceilings, and a cosy wood burner to snuggle next to after a long walk. Spend time here, watching the Smart TV or enjoying family mealtimes at the table by the window. The separate galley-style kitchen is equipped with everything needed for a self-catering getaway. Upstairs, on the half landing, is a family bathroom, with a few more steps leading to three tranquil bedrooms. Castle Douglas is a designated food town, with many independent eateries showcasing local produce. The town also has a good range of shops, boutiques, and galleries, many of which welcome four-pawed visitors. Just 1.5 miles away is Threave Garden and Nature Reserve, where you and the hound can amble amongst the various garden ‘rooms’, each demonstrating a different planting style. There are some lovely walks to enjoy, too, with gorgeous views across the Ken Valley.
