Bring water-loving dogs for the adventure of their lives in this cosy cottage overlooking the tranquil waters of Upper Lough Erne. Offering direct access to the lake and with plenty of hiking trails nearby, it’s ideal for large families or groups of up to eight friends.
The exterior of the two-storey detached house is painted in nautical colours as befits its lakeside setting. Inside, it boasts an open-plan living space with a stylish lounge that includes plenty of soft seating and a Smart TV – perfect for a tranquil evening with your pet by your feet. The kitchen includes all the culinary equipment the cook could need, with a freezer and laundry facilities in the nearby utility room. There’s a handy downstairs WC here, too. When bedtime beckons, settle your hound in his bed and head upstairs. Here, four double bedrooms, each with ample storage and featuring traditional furnishings, share a family bathroom with a bath and separate shower. To the front, a private patio with built-in stone seating and a BBQ looks out across the lake, offering a perfect spot for a morning coffee, drinks or outdoor dining as your pet sniffs and plays, plus easy access to the water just beyond. You’ll also have the benefit of private parking for two cars.
Cross the road by the cottage and you’ll be on the public jetty, which you can use for paddleboarding, kayaking and canoeing in the sprawling lake system, which is renowned for its beautiful scenery. Clip on the lead and explore the estate at Florence Court (10 miles), where there are two circular trails to follow, and water bowls are provided at the visitor centre. Or how about taking your big (or little) dog for a hike in the remote Big Dog Forest, 27.5 miles away?
