The contemporary kitchen sits within the open-plan living area, complete with a breakfast bar and everything needed for feeding a hungry pack. The lounge provides ample seating, a large Smart TV and another wood burner, with picture windows framing calming river vistas. It's an inviting place to unwind during your stay while your loyal hound settles nearby. A utility area with a washing machine and tumble dryer, plus a downstairs cloakroom, adds practicality. From here, step out onto the rear balcony. On the first floor are four beautifully appointed bedrooms. A twin room with an en-suite shower room boasts creek views and its own private balcony. A king-size bedroom also benefits from an en-suite shower room, while two double bedrooms each have their own en-suite facilities – one with a bathroom, the other with a shower room. On the second floor, the generous master suite includes a super-king-size bed, TV, sofa and an en-suite bathroom with a roll-top bath and separate shower. Outside, the rear balcony stretches out above the water, furnished for al fresco dining or evening drinks.

From the doorstep, you and your canine friend can follow scenic footpaths through rolling South Hams countryside. A friendly local pub sits 100 metres away, making post-walk refreshments wonderfully convenient. For a nostalgic day out, hop aboard the South Devon Railway (7 miles), where pets are welcome, and watch the River Dart wind its way between Buckfastleigh (10.5 miles) and Totnes (4 miles). History lovers can explore Totnes Castle (3.5 miles), while the ever-popular coastal towns of Dartmouth (9 miles) and Salcombe (18 miles) tempt with harbourside strolls, independent shops and sea air – plenty to keep tails wagging.

The house is in a beautiful location, the beds are comfy and the kitchen is very well equipped. The downstairs area felt damp when we arrived and it could do with a deep clean. There were nine of us, 5 adults, 2 teenagers, a 12 year old and a 9 year old, the style of the lounge furniture meant we were cramped when we were having family time in theRead more evening.
