Waking up to the cry of gulls and the gentle lap of the sea, holidays in Northumberland don’t get much better than this. Fortunately, with space for up to six people and your ‘goodest boy’, this harbourside cottage in Craster will get the woof of approval from the whole pack. Fill each day with family fun and explore all the delights this part of the world has to offer, from games of fetch by the shore to afternoons learning about local history at Dunstanburgh Castle to evenings tucking into fresh fish (and tasty chewies too!).

Seriously stylish with industrial undertones softened by layer upon layer of luxury, this five-star retreat will quickly win you over. Boasting superb views of the harbour and sea beyond, its sumptuous interiors are rivalled only by the moving portraits it offers of the world outside. Wake up in one of three bedrooms – each is matched with a bathroom, so everyone can take their time. Once refreshed, the kitchen will beckon for drawn-out breakfasts, delightful in summer when the French doors open to meet the harbour. For rainy days or early evenings, the magazine-worthy lounge with its picture window and come-hither seating will be too hard to resist. Pop a film on or listen to the Bluetooth speaker as your dog snoozes in front of the wood burner.

With a choice of inside dining and a patio with outside seating, you can rotate your meals with the seasons and make the most of the beautiful setting. That said, if you fancy some time off cooking, Craster enjoys a selection of eateries, including a great dog-friendly pub less than 30 metres away. Whether your dog is a senior citizen or an energetic pup, we’re sure they’ll love exploring the local dog-friendly beach too, less than 0.5 miles away.

Maggie's Den is a beautiful property in a stunning village. We loved our Xmas holidays here however there were a few little things that let it down. Hopefully these issues will be resolved and the cottage will be perfect for the next guests.

We stayed for a week in November. The location is brilliant for coastal walks and the village pub, which serves excellent sea food, and is possibly a little too convenient. The cottage is exactly as presented - no deceiving photography. It has been refurbished to a high standard and is very comfortable. Craster is a working harbour, so it can get bRead moreusy. The onsite car parking is a massive plus. We had a very pleasant and memorable stay. Hide

The cottage was extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The furniture and fittings were high quality as was all of the kitchen and other household equipment. The location was really convenient and the view of the harbour and local surroundings was great.

Fabulous location. Easy to do lots of great walks from the house aswell as a short drive away. Great facilities for a family - we were 6 adults. Beds really comfy. Heating very efficient and we loved the log burner. Dried all our walking and. Swimming stuff easily - maybe another clothes horse would be handy, especially in winter.

Wonderful location and open plan layout which was ideal for sharing with friends. Great views - we had thought these might be dominated by our two cars but that was not the case. Great place for watching sea birds, especially a friendly guillemot. Walks in all directions are exceptional. There were lots of maintenance issues and when we called abouRead moret them nothing happened. I was looking forward to the copper bath but could not run enough water for a decent soak - the showers are superb though. Hide
