Situated in open countryside, between the rolling hills of the Lincolnshire Wolds and the golden sands of the Lincolnshire coast, Gayton Le Marsh offers an ideal location for a holiday. Locally, visitors can stroll through the pretty Georgian streets of Louth (8 miles) adorned with independent shops and cafes, or Alford (6 miles) with its medieval manor house. They can enjoy the picturesque walks of Tennyson country, or traditional fish and chips (and amazing ice cream and doughnuts!) at the small seaside towns of Mablethorpe and Sutton-on-Sea. For nature enthusiasts, there’s nationally famous bird spotting at Gibraltar Point (22 miles), or why not visit Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary (6.5 miles), Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe Dunes National Nature Reserve (7.5 miles) or Donna Nook Grey Seal Colony (14 miles) where, every November and December, thousands of grey seals come to the sand dunes to give birth to their pups; a wildlife spectacle.

This delightful property, connected to the owners’ main residence, seamlessly blends modern amenities with timeless character. Halfway up the stairs from the panelled entrance hall sits a charming kitchen, which retains its historical feel while providing a spacious and well-equipped area, complete with a dishwasher. The dining table and chairs offer a perfect setting to enjoy meals, with garden views enhancing the ambience. The stairs then lead on to the first floor, where the building gracefully expands to unveil a wide landing and generously sized sitting room. Adorned with tasteful decoration, this relaxing communal area boasts a Smart TV and leather seating, and is well-equipped with books and traditional board games, providing a comfortable retreat with rural views. Also on this floor is the modern bathroom, featuring a WC, dual shower, and his and hers basins, adding a touch of luxury. The two bedrooms, one featuring a super king-size zip-and-link bed, and the other a king-size bed, are also equipped with Smart TVs, and offer ample storage alongside enchanting countryside views.

After a day of exploration, why not relax and enjoy a leisurely evening in your own private courtyard? This outdoor space includes dining table and chairs, and attractive views of the Old Rectory gardens (which can be accessed for recreation and dog walking with the owners’ prior agreement). There's also extensive parking at the rear of the property, conveniently close to the accommodation, and dog walking along local lanes and footpaths (which requires a short drive or walk along the road).

Lovely accommodation and hosts. We only had one negative and that was the stairs. Somehow we missed it.

The bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen equipment was of high standard but we thought that more could have been done to make the lounge and kitchen areas more homely.
