This countryside retreat enjoys a tranquil setting in East Devon, just 3.5 miles from the market town of Axminster. Welcoming four guests and two furry chums, it’s the ideal base for couples and small families looking to switch off and relax in beautiful surroundings. Enjoy days out to the breathtaking Jurassic Coast (8 miles) or one of the nearby National Trust properties, such as Barrington Court (21 miles).

The converted barn, which is located on a working farm, enjoys far-reaching views across the Devon countryside. The property is decorated in calming, neutral tones, with an array of cute accessories and landscape artwork adorning the walls. The main living space is an open-plan lounge/diner, with French doors leading to the terrace, so the hounds can amble in and out. Spend time here, watching the Smart TV and sharing mealtimes together. A single step leads to a contemporary kitchen with everything needed for a self-catering holiday, and completing the ground floor is a shower room. Upstairs, set under sloping ceilings, you’ll find two cosy bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite bathroom. Rounding off this level is a cute snug area with a TV. Outside, soak up the sunshine on the decked terrace, which is fully enclosed for your four-pawed pals. The property has private parking for two cars.

Head into Axminster to potter around the independent shops or perhaps pick up some delicious local produce from the farmers’ market. As expected, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to local dog walks, with the magnificent Blackdown Hills on your doorstep and easy access to the paw-friendly beaches and clifftop paths of the Jurassic Coast. Nearby beaches that welcome woofers all year include Monmouth in Lyme Regis (8 miles) and Jacob’s Ladder in Sidmouth (17 miles).
