Scafell Pike (14 miles) beckons if you’re keen to conquer England’s highest peak, with the starting point at Wasdale Head (9 miles) or take a gentler walk at Ennerdale, 14 miles.

Stepping through the front door of this welcoming two-storey property, drop off coats, walking boots and leads in the hallway before heading through to the lounge - the heart of the house.
