Treat your furry friends to a stay at this elegant Georgian manor, located in the peaceful village of Newton Tracey. It’s 4 miles from Barnstaple, giving larger groups of family and friends the very best of North Devon town and country living. Dogs will love exploring generous outdoor space and easy access to some of North Devon’s best walking spots. You’re 2 miles from a welcoming inn (2 miles) where you can enjoy a relaxed meal after a busy day out, and excellently placed for sandy-paw adventures at the dog-friendly Saunton Sands (14 miles).

On arrival, step inside via the practical porch, where you can wipe muddy paws and walking boots after long walks. The spacious ground floor includes a cosy living room with plush seating and a wood burner for deep doggie snoozes, plus an open-plan snug and dining area that’s perfect for relaxed evenings together. Period details like sash windows and French doors add plenty of character. The kitchen is stylish and functional, complete with a striking Lacanche range cooker and a large dining table seating eight. Upstairs, four beautiful bedrooms are spread across two floors: two king-size on the first floor, with a further king-size and super-king on the top floor. There are two bathrooms – one with a walk-in shower and free-standing bath so you can take a soak, and another shower room with WC – along with a handy utility room. Outside, dogs and children will love playing on the large front lawn while adults relax in the outdoor entertaining area, with seating, loungers and a hot tub overlooking a natural pond. Please note: the pond is unfenced, so care is needed with pets and young children. You’ll have private parking for four cars.

For pet-friendly adventures nearby, join the picturesque South West Coast Path at Instow (5 miles) or spend full days exploring Exmoor National Park (10 miles) with your pet in tow. Barnstaple has shops, cafés and riverside walks along the River Taw. The wide sands of Westward Ho! Beach (15 miles) and Woolacombe Beach (just under 18 miles) are both within reach – please check for seasonal dog restrictions.

We absolutely loved our stay in this exceptional manor house! It has been very thoughtfully furnished with lovely items dotted all over, we particularly loved the two antique recliner chairs in the kitchen :) There are four extremely comfortable beds that hug you, it has a well kitted out kitchen and a beautifully large lounge with huge, comfortaRead moreble sofas and a woodburner that kicks out some lovely heat. Outside, there is a wonderful hottub with plenty of room for everyone (which is fenced off in a smaller garden at the bottom of the property for safety as well as privacy) and our dog safely lived his absolute best life bouncing around in the rest of the huge gardens. Barnstaple has everything you need and is easily accessed less than 10 minutes drive away but you're also far enough away to be out in the peaceful countryside. The Tarka Trail was great for a walk and a bike hire and lots of beaches within easy reach to explore too. We've rented a great deal of holiday properties over the last 25 years and this has been one of our favourites Hide
