Watch ears prick up and tails wag when your delighted dog races into the salty shallows at Norfolk’s Salthouse. This three-bedroom pet-friendly cottage, which sleeps five guests at Holt, is just 4 miles from a dog-friendly beach. The cottage in the Georgian market town also benefits from an enclosed courtyard garden, where your chum can warm his soft fur in the sunshine.
Take a step up to enter this lovely cottage. Let your paw-some pal stretch out on the rug beside the wood burner-effect fire in the welcoming lounge/diner. Take the weight off your own feet on the comfortable sofa or leather armchair before deciding whether to dine at home or in one of Holt’s many eateries. There is a table for holiday meals and a Smart TV for fun family viewing. Call your hungry hound through to the kitchen/diner to top up his food and water bowls. This light space, which also has a wooden floor, features all the accessories and equipment you need for self-catering, and is the perfect place to pause with a cup of tea while he wolfs his feast. A utility room, where you can rinse doggy towels, and a WC are also downstairs. Your beautifully finished bedrooms, a king-size, a twin and a cosy single with a raised child’s bed, are all upstairs, together with the family bathroom. Dine out in the courtyard garden under blue Norfolk skies while your pal potters about. On-street parking outside the cottage is limited to 1 hr Monday to Saturday, and unrestricted on Sunday. A reserved parking bay is available at the allotment parking off Mill Street, a 4 minute walk from the cottage.
Pick up the Norfolk Coast Path at Salthouse and ride out in either direction with your faithful friend at your heel. Take him to race about Holt Country Park, less than 1 mile away, and the parkland grounds at the National Trust’s Felbrigg Hall, 9 miles away, too.
