Set tails wagging with a stay at this stylish coastal retreat, tucked away on a quiet road under 150 metres from Perranporth’s golden sands. Sleeping ten guests and welcoming one canine companion, it’s ideal for family gatherings and getaways with friends on the rugged north Cornish coast. From scampering on sands to walkies along the coastal path, it’s the kind of place where every member of the family can have a ball.
Part of a small complex, this house feels bright and welcoming from the moment you step into the light-filled conservatory – a handy place to towel off sandy paws before heading into the main living space. The lounge/diner is the ideal spot to spend quality time with your pack. Sink into the generous, comfortable seating to watch a film on the large Smart TV, and enjoy long, lingering suppers in the dining area set in the bay window. A second dining table in the conservatory offers a more casual alternative, while the spacious, monochrome kitchen has all the essentials for preparing meals for hungry humans and hounds alike. When it’s time to rest your head, choose between five beautifully furnished bedrooms. There’s a cosy bunk room on the ground floor, while upstairs there are two king-size rooms each with Juliette balconies, a charming twin and a second bunk room. Two shower rooms, one on each floor, plus an en-suite with a corner jacuzzi bath and an en-suite WC on the two king-size rooms offer comfort and convenience. Outside, an enclosed garden has space for dining alfresco on the patio and a small lawn for morning zoomies, and there’s private parking for two cars.
With three miles of golden sands, dunes and rock pools, the beach is doggie heaven year-round, with leads required only on the main beach between 10am and 5pm during July and August. Alternatively, head 200 metres south for morning walkies around the shore of the boating lake. There’s a choice of dog-friendly attractions nearby, including Penrose Water Gardens (7 miles) and Lappa Valley (7.5 miles).
