Find yourselves in hound dog heaven when you pull up at this impressive country retreat in Worcestershire. Sleeping eight guests, the four-bedroom cottage, which exudes an abundance of charm, sits in exquisite, manicured gardens where your pet can race to his heart’s content. Situated at Shrawley, 5 miles from Stourport-on-Severn, it is also well placed for long dog walks, including in the picturesque Malvern Hills.

Follow furry feet through to the beautiful, beamed, dual-aspect lounge. Light a fire in the wood burner and sink back into a plump sofa while your canine curls up in the warmth. Chat or watch the Smart TV before heading through to the gorgeous, farmhouse-style kitchen/diner to prepare feasts for all. Feed your hungry chum in the kitchen while the rest of you gather in the dining room. While away evenings through in the games room, while your paw-some pal mills about feeling part of the team. Adjoining the kitchen are a pantry and utility room. When it is time to retire for the night, one staircase leads to a triple bedroom, with three single beds and an en-suite bathroom, while another takes you to two doubles and a single. Here you also have a wonderful family bathroom, with a rolltop bath, and a family shower room. The splendid gardens to the front and back of the cottage will give you and your four-legged friend hours of fun. After throwing a ball for him, relax with a chilled drink or summer lunch and gaze out towards the horses in the fields. There is parking for four cars.

Ancient Shrawley Wood, 1 mile away, is the perfect place to stretch energetic legs. Venture 8.5 miles together to follow the Giants Trail at the Wyre Forest or 11 miles to the beginnings of the scenic Malvern Hills.
