Located in the friendly Somerset village of Kingsdon, this handsome stone farmhouse is a brilliant base for dog owners who love having countryside all around and walks right from the doorstep. With room for up to 12 guests and the village pub less than 100 metres away, it’s a wonderful option for a sociable holiday among friends or extended family.
Inside, a characterful flagstone entrance hall leads into the beautiful living room and dining room. Both have open fires, and there’s a handy boot and utility room. A separate study offers a quiet corner, while the farmhouse-style kitchen will inspire your inner chef, with its Aga set in an exposed brick fireplace and lovely large island. Upstairs, you’ll find a super-king-size with an en-suite shower room, a second super-king-size with its own dressing room and en-suite bathroom with separate shower, two king-size bedrooms each with en-suite shower rooms, and a twin bedroom served by a bathroom across the landing, plus an additional separate WC. Across the courtyard lies a separate ground-floor guest annexe with another king-size bedroom, along with its own small lounge area, kitchenette and en-suite shower room. Outside, landscaped gardens and a patio create a lovely space for outdoor dining, with a charcoal BBQ and seating. There’s also a courtyard hot tub and a separate games room. Parking is available for up to six cars, including one covered carport space and extra off-road parking, all accessed via a shared estate driveway.
Right opposite the house (100 metres), there’s a kids’ playground where children can play. Nearby, the historic market town of Somerton (3.5 miles) has shops, pubs and places to eat, accompanied by your pets. For trips further afield, the A303 is around 1 mile away – or head to Castle Cary train station to reach locations like Bristol, Bath, Glastonbury and Yeovil.
