This rural hideaway sits in an elevated position, enjoying magnificent views across the Exe Valley. The spacious safari tent, which is just outside the pretty Devon village of Bickleigh, welcomes up to six humans and two hounds. The holiday retreat is the ideal base for keen walkers, with endless nearby tracks and trails to explore, including the Exe Valley Way and the sprawling landscape of Exmoor National Park.
The safari-style retreat is set at the top of a vast paddock, surrounded by mature trees and hedgerows. Inside, the open-plan living space is full of creature comforts and features a plump sofa to sink into and a farmhouse-style dining table for sharing mealtimes. To the rear is a cute kitchen area with a gas hob and all the equipment needed to rustle up breakfasts and light bites. Rounding off this space is a cosy wood burner, which creates the perfect dozing spot for the hounds. The tent has a king-size bedroom, a twin, and a king-size cabin bed that’s suitable for both adults and children. Completing the accommodation is a contemporary shower room. Outside, soak up the scenery and sip a sundowner on the enclosed veranda, or toast marshmallows around the firepit below whilst the woofers play on the grass. Guests are also welcome to enjoy the on-site children’s play area and skittles/boules. Private parking is available for two cars.
Bickleigh is a charming village with thatched cottages and a choice of paw-friendly places to eat. The village is also home to Bickleigh Mill, where woofers are welcome in the shop, gardens, and many of the riverside walks. Just outside the village is Northdown Wood, which is a great spot on a hot day, offering plenty of shade for your furry chums. For shopping and eating out, journey into the market town of Tiverton (4 miles) or the cathedral city of Exeter (7 miles).
