This charming cottage set at the heart of Seahouses is a great place to take the family, canine buddies included. Leave the car parked and enjoy wandering the bustling fishing village, watching harbour activity, before letting the dogs and the kids loose on the sandy beach. Cosy up after a day exploring in the welcoming lounge, with the dogs sprawled in front of the toasty electric fire. If you are a larger group, why not book the equally lovely cottage next door too.

Inside, the spacious lounge is perfect for the whole gang to kick back, whether it’s spreading out a game on the floor, curling up in an armchair with a book, or chilling out in front of a movie. The kitchen/diner has everything you’ll need to cook up a storm for the hungry masses after days spent out in the fresh air. The family bathroom is also on the ground floor, while upstairs the three bedrooms include a twin room and a bunk bedroom that the younger kids will love. Despite its central location, there’s private parking in the courtyard where you can also enjoy your freshly brewed morning coffee at the shared patio area.

The harbour and village are metres away, and the dogs can be bounding on the beach after less than a 0.5-mile walk. There are several dog-friendly beaches to explore locally, many of which you can walk to along the shoreline, such as Bamburgh (3 miles), which also has a historic castle. Don’t miss a trip to the Farne Islands for puffin and seal spotting — bring along Fido if he has his sea legs as some of the boat tours allow dogs on board.

  • 3 bedrooms -1 double, 1 twin , 1 bunk bedroom
  • 1 bathroom 1 with shower over the bath and WC
  • Electric hob and oven, fridge/freezer, washing machine
  • Pubs, shops and restaurants with easy driving distance
  • TV/DVD, iPod dock and CD in lounge
  • Wood burner effect electric fire
  • Selection of DVDs and games
  • Off-road parking for one car in the shared courtyard
  • Please note, there are no sea views from this property
  • For larger groups, there is a sister cottage called Sea Glass Cottage which can be rented with this property
  • This property does not have a dedicated electric vehicle charging point. Charging an electric vehicle via a domestic three-pin power point, either internal or external, poses a fire risk and is strictly prohibited. Dedicated charging points can be found in the local area

  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00
  • 3 dogs allowed. Additional charges may apply

PERFECTLY located cottage. The best place for coastal Northumberland. Clean on arrival and everything we needed was there. Facilities in good working order (especially the kitchen). Parking is tight and could be bad if people were inconsiderate, parked badly or in your designated space, but was really good to have the space. We always got parked thRead moreough and wasnt blocked in at any point. No sea view as seen on listing. Overall a lovely stay in a lovely cottage Hide

Very clean and tidy cottage, fairly well equipped and comfortable. A very short walk to the town centre and coastal path.

The position of the cottage is perfect but there is no view unlike the owners other property next door. It advertised accomodating 6 people. But the bathroom is very poor and we were only 4. Other facilities were adequate. Parking is a problem. If you get the weather it's a great position though.

Seashell and Seaglass cottages are an excellent choice especially for 2 families on holiday together, gave us the the ability to eat and socialise together but also space to be separate. With 6 children and a dog this was perfect. An amazing location, and the view of the bay from one of the properties was truly spectacular (can't remember it's nameRead more!). We would definitely return. The owner was extremely helpful texting me to say orcas had been sighted. Hide

Lovely cottage, very clean, close to the harbour. Downside only a small place to sit outside. No chairs available, luckily we took own own. Not enough space for 4 or 6 people to sit outside. Adequate for 4 people maybe, but definitely not 6.

The positives - lovely position near to harbour; spacious lounge & kitchen; heating effective. Not really a cottage as there is a flat above / beside it and so we could hear the neighbours. Bit of TLC wouldn't go amiss, although I think this is more down to cleaner than owner. Mixture of non matching glasses and cutlery which cheapened it. Parking Read morewas a nightmare with no clearly defined space and several flats / houses having more than one vehicle. No where to sit out. Owner helpful with issues Hide
