Overlooking a peaceful fishing lake on a working farm, this Scandi-inspired lodge is a romantic retreat just for two – with room for a much-loved canine companion. Complete with a wood burner and a hot tub on a raised deck, it’s a fabulous base for walks in the South Downs and long runs on sandy beaches.
Featuring natural timber cladding from floor to ceiling, this appealing retreat blends rural charm with contemporary comfort. Inside, the studio-style living space combines a lounge, dining space and sleeping area, with plenty of room on the floor for bowls and beds. Soft seating faces a Smart TV and a wood burner, creating a cosy spot after rambles in the country or along the coast. A king-size bed sits to one side, with wardrobe space provided. The kitchen area, which leads off the open-plan space, provides everything required for relaxed holiday cooking, including an electric oven, two-ring hob, fridge with freezer compartment and microwave. Completing this appealing interior, a compact shower room offers a refreshing start to the day. Doors open onto a covered deck furnished for lounging and equipped with a gas BBQ. There’s also a private hot tub ready for long soaks in the sunshine or under the stars (glass of bubby optional). Guests are welcome to fish on the lake on a catch-and-release basis. Private parking for one car is also provided.
Set outside the village of Walberton, the lodge is just 3 miles from the edge of the beautiful South Downs National Park – perfect for exploring with a furry friend at your side. The pebbly Climping Beach is only 4.5 miles away, great for dog walking, and world-famous Goodwood is less than 10 miles away, where you and your pal can (on a lead) enjoy the 70-acre gardens.
